*List will be updated constantly*
Authors, please let me know if you do not want me to do this after you complete a ROM.

Hey Conceptz, thank you for the effort!

Btw, is it possible to have something (a thread/a guide) that would give the specs of each of these roms so that 6700 users can decide which roms to install ? Like a list of included apps/ known issues or something similar.

For instance, should I go with Yuma, Helmi 3.5, alwaysbelieve, colonel 3.3b3 or 3.5? At least, in my opinion, it would answer most users' questions.

Thanks!

konceptz, this is a great contribution! While the experts are cooking away and doing all sorts of mysterious hard to understand things efforts like yours are important for newbs to keep their sanity.

A few questions:

1. Can you tell me how you created these installers. From looking at them I'm assuming you just created an SFX with RAR and put in these comments?

Setup=MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
TempMode

2. Related to that, if I wanted to create a "complete" installer with Radio, ROM, and EXT_ROM, could I just include all three files in the package: radio_.nbf, nk.nbf, and ms_.nbf and MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe would be able to handle them?

(FYI if anyones interested, I was thinking of using the radio_.nbf from the latest official spring/utstarcom ROM. For ext_rom, I was going to start with a blank one and add only cabs for apps I want to install-that I either couldn't build an OEM for or there wouldnt be any advatange to using an OEM for. For the sprint stuff that is normally in ext_rom Ive used the no junk SprintExtendedOEM created by SchettJ which like many others (eg. sfaure) I've been cooking into all my kitchen builds to save space)

3. Finally, i'm sure its explained elsewhere but whats the difference between MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and ROMUpgradeUt.exe? I've seen most people use MaUp but others (I think sfaure is the only one I noticed) use ROMUp to flash their cooked ROMs. The official official sprint ROMs use ROMUp I think.

Would appreciate anyones comments. Thanks.

konceptz, Saridnour has an updated version of his ROM now ver r4. Just though I would let you know so you could update the original post and the ftp site. It looks nice so far and is running pretty quick.

Yeah, although the link to the discussion usually gives everything right out in front.

Jayz11

I just created a SFX (Self Extracting file) using winrar, added an Icon and told it to run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe after extraction.

I don't use command lines, although it probably would be faster with a batch file. There just isn't much point to writing one at this time.

or u can just save the settings under a new setting in winrar named rom installers or something......that's what I have done. ;) so it makes it quick and easy.

Hey wideawake, do you think this thread, if constantly updated, would deserve a sticky?

I hate to keep bumping it, since there should never be much response to this thread, but I think it's somewhat valuable for beginners or 1st timers to this scene.

jamesus 02-21-2007 04:29 PM

i think that it is a very good resource for begninners who do not know how to flash their ROMs without using an exe file.
