I spoke too soon. the memory card problem came back and I am not home to check the card.
Evreything works fine without the card and I know I have a clean install. the card stops the unit and immediately returns to normal when I take it out . this prpblem makes me wonder if the autorun exe altered my card. I had been doing some testing, trying to get the extrom to run off the card before, but I at a loss because the card was formatted so any hidden files should have been gone. Any insight would be appreciated. |

I am having the same problem with my palm treo 700wx. I think it is related to activesync somehow, because as soon as i put in my sd card, activesync pops up and EVERYTHING freezes. Both the touchscreen and keyboard and only a soft-reset helps. Removing the SD card doesn't help, just doing a soft-reset without the SD card in (if it is left in, same problem, instant crash with activesync).
I think it may possibly be related to having plugged my phone into my Windows laptop after syncing with my iMac. It claimed that it needed to sync with a different computer, so named itself "Windows PC 2" [because it had already taken "Windows PC" previously]. Right after this, the crashes began, and now I cannot use my SD card at all. I reformatted my SD card, no change. I can read the card on my mac and pc just fine. So it seems like something is messed up on the registry? Please help! Thanks! |

see, I would if I could, but the ppc locks up too quickly, right upon insertion of the card.
Oddly enough, this has been staggeringly difficult to find documented anywhere else on the internet - there seem to be acknowledgements of SD card bugs in WM5, but that's about it. Since I know it's related to activesync, any ideas as to how one could somehow...well...restore the activesync installation without having to do a full-on hard reset? |

okay, so I managed to solve my version of the problem at least.
Earlier, I had reformatted the SD card, put all the old files on it, and tried to use. Crashed. Last night, formatted the SD card again. Except this time, I put the clean card into my treo, and there were no issues! I was thrilled, assuming I had misformatted the first time round somehow. So I docked my treo and started copying over the backup of my SD card when, all of a sudden, the same total lockup/crash occurred! Highly suspicious. So it was clearly a particular file that my treo just couldn't stand. Turns out that the copying had stopped at the pRSS folder in Program Files, which was the last program I had installed before the lockups started happening. Deleted the folder, and all is peachy. Thank god I installed it on the SD card and not in main memory! Has anyone else had problems/experience with pRSS? I haven't been able to use it because of the problem I mentioned, and I'm too scared to install it to main memory. Either way, great success (in terms of having a functioning SD card again)! Now to get this A2DP magic running... |

Your SD card issue could be due to more than 2GB size. If so, look at this link http://www.pocketpc-live.com/partition-sd-cards.html
Hope it helps. -AR |
