support code 86000107 ActiveSync 4.5 issues

I have been all over the internet and none of the fixes seem to work for me. I am using WM6.1, AS 4.5 and am syncing to two PC's. On the second PC, I get the error code mentioned. The problem is in syncing the calendar on the second PC. Am I going to have to load WM6.0 instead?

No you dont need to. Just remove the calendar from the second computer, and then sync it from your mobile.

Unfortunately, that won't work for me. I need to sync both calendars. I can remove the calendar syncing on the second computer, and it works fine, but when I change the options to add the calendar back in on the second computer, I get the same message.

Frenchie,
Did you ever figure this out? I have the same issue... tried recreating the PST files and I still end up with the error code after a couple of syncs.

Tentatively, yes, I think I have the problem solved. First, I loaded a different self-cooked ROM (WM6.1) that used less RAM. Syncing worked all right after that for a while on both my laptop and work PC, but then I started having problems again syncing with the laptop. I deleted the relationship with my laptop. Then I created a new blank .pst file in Outlook and made it my default and checked to see if syncing worked. Of course it did since there was nothing to sync, but I wanted to check anyway.

My PPC6700 at this point had everything I needed on it because I had previously had successful syncs: laptop to pda to work PC to pda. So all I had to do was let ActiveSync sync everything from PDA to my blank .pst on my laptop. I believe that I must have had something corrupt on my laptop .pst file so by starting with a clean .pst file on my laptop solved the problem.

After all this verbiage, this probably won't work for you, but I hope it does. It seems there are as many solutions to this as there are people complaining about it.

Yeah, but the process required me to delete my PST file and recreate a new one. Not too good when you have a lot of achieved dates you want to keep.

Browse to where outlook stores the PST files and delete them. Make sure outlook.exe is closed or else you'll get a locked file error. Open outlook and it will ask you to find the PST file. Just press OK and it will automagically create a new one. Restart your PC and re sync your handheld.

So, did you guys found a solution or it's really ROM issue?

Thanks!

In the words of Microsoft Support, "We are aware of this problem. This is by design."

Re: support code 86000107 ActiveSync 4.5 issues

PST file re-creation does nothing for me... the second time i sync with the first computer the eror shows up again. I think the isue is with activesync itself because if i go to options and deselect the sync items, let the PPC sync, and then turn the options back on the error does not show up. this just takes a lot of time to peform....

It's only since I installed the ROM that I have the issue. So I guess it's a bug with WM6.1 or the ROM?

No problem with 6.0 Stock.

I think it's funny.... ok, very sad actually, that Microsoft's products can't even communicate with each other. :(

I was joking. That is a common Microsoft Support response. As for your problem, I never had that problem on WM5 or 6.0. Never tried it on 6.1, sorry.

Re: support code 86000107 ActiveSync 4.5 issues

I solved it.

You need to completely delete your .PST file. I know it stinks but it is the only way to get syncing back. Open outlook and recreate one. Then sync your apache back over and it'll start working again.

What is the problem with PST file? I know in programming, we discovered people who use Return Receipts and keep them in the Inbox cause us issues with out custom interface to Outlook... You might want to just create a new folder, then move the contents of the Inbox into it... It is probably a message with a flag or a special status causing the problem...

It's hard to say. I was getting the error message on my home computer and my computer at work which uses exchange. If both computer's .pst files are local (not Exchange), you might have to delete both. However, if you suspect one computer more than the other, start the new .pst there first. You can keep your old .pst file -- just make the new one your primary. If the new one syncs OK, you copy the individual items from the old contact list to the new one. This should not corrupt the new .pst.

In my case, I had a good contact list/calendar on my PDA prior to getting the error message. Once I started with a clean .pst on my PC, I was able to sync from the existing good contact list/calendar on my PDA back to my computer. I haven't had any problems since. This might be another way for you to get your items back without having to recreate them by hand.

Yeah.

I don't understand why it stopped working. But after deleting the PST file it worked. I found the solution at aximsite.

Hey Guys, I just installed the helmi_c WM6.1 last night on my xv6700 (was running 5). I am getting this problem as well.....it almost does seem like it is a problem with the ROM because i had no problems with this when running wm5. I have the exact same scenerio that one of the other posters had in this post (using exchange for work, pop for home, synching 2 machines..work and home). what's interesting with mine is that it syncs fine until i add the exchange server source in (im doing this at home right now).

I guess i will try to delete my PST to see if that works....

I want to go back to the WM 6.0 until they fix this issue on WM6.1.

Anyone know where I can download 6.0 for my Titan?

Thanks.
