How do I actually close a program?

Well, I noticed that when you think you're closing a program on the Apache, you're not.

Is there an application that will actually close a program when I hit 'OK' or 'X'? I hate having to go through 'Settings' to close everything.

I'm running Windows Mobile 5, and I'm not upgrading as the Kitchen actually changes your SPC code, and from that point on, you'll be lucky if you can program your phone again.

This has got to be searchable on the forum. But...

What you need is a program like Magic Button or QuickMenu. Both are free. I've tried them both on my 6700. Both work nicely. QuickMenu is like Magic Button on steroids. Megasteroids. It's GREAT! Search the forum or Google them and you'll be all set.

Yeah, isn't that strange? You need a task manager. WKTask available in WM6 kitchen but sounds like you don't want to flash.

If you ever go back to your carrier for return, repair, support, etc. you should flash back to the stock ROM for your carrier anyway. You can't expect anyone to reprogram a 6700 that has WM6 or 6.1.

I use Resco which gives a good task manager.

I'm actually a Handset Technician for the PCS company I use. Even if you flash back to the carrier ROM, you still can't reprogram it.

Is there a registry edit you can do to verify it's actually closing? I'm tired of having to look at my Task Manager to stop a program.

We are all here to learn. What can be left after a flash upgrade/downgrade? Shouldn't it be just like OEM? Where does that SPC code reside on the device or does it come OEM assigned to a device?

I've *228 and programmed my XV6700 a few times post-upgrade... using the kitchen doesn't break programming.

My Q is where did you get the info that the SPC code gets changed? And if flashing made the device not able to be flashed again, then many of us would be oh so screwed.

As for how to close apps, like said before I use Resco and here are some screens to show you what I mean.

The HEX is OEM assigned. Technically, the SPC is assigned by carrier software, however, for some reason, even after reflashing carrier software, it's not reflashing with the correct SPC.

I've upgraded to 6.1 now, so I'll try it again at work tomorrow.
