Known issue. No solution at this point. You know what your options are! Gotta decide which you like better.
P.S. I have tried Wisbar several times but have always ended up ditching it because it's a memory hog. It may be pretty but for me it was not worth all the resource utilization. |

same here, every release promises better performance. But in the end my ppc slows up big time when using Wisbar and i usually get random lock ups too
I give up, however Wisbar Lite seems to be working great! -s

I 3rd that. I totally fell for Wisbar/desktop but man the lockups, not loading up correct and yes the HUGE MEMORY HOG just doesn't do it for me. All that was after I starting learning more about PPC's.

You guys are right. I have noticed that Wisbar Advance does slow things down.
But why did they remove the EVDO and 1X symbols??? I paid for the program... now I guess I'll have to ditch it. That suks. |

I agree, it does stink to lose the ev/1x notifier, but in my opinion, it doesn't matter. I live in a good reception area, but even when I'm not, it doesn't make a difference to me. For example, if I am in 1x or ev, I will still use the internet, etc, so I won't exactly be getting up from my seat to find a better reception point. I suppose it would matter if I were to listen to streaming music, in which case I would want to know if I was in an ev area. My two cents. I remove most of the notifiers on the top bar of wisbar because I can function without them; I only have battery/memory, time, ok/close, and notifier. I like the cleaner interface. I seemed to have great difficulty operating my device without wisbar since I feel I need to know what programs are open. The list of running apps helps me have knowledge and control over what my device is doing at any moment. Wisbar and aebplus vastly improve one-handed operation, so to me, they are essential.
The developer of wisbar has said in his forum that he has tried many times to incorporate the ev/1x notifier but he hasn't been able to find where the OS sends the ev/1x notifier information to the today screen. He can't intercept the notifier to harness that info for wisbar. He has been working on that issue for a while with no success. That being said, I have been using wisbar for over a year, and though at first I thought it too slow, I kept with it. Over the past 6 months, there have been numerous revisions that have substantially increased the speed. The only things I notice are a slight lag with the start menu; I don't mind since I find the start menu much more useful than the native start menu. If you haven't tried it in a while, it might be time to give it another try ... It seems quite snappy with aku 3.3 again, my two cents. |

Wisbar lite is probably the best True Closer out there. It is very similar to Inclose. Inclose is free and Wisbar is not. There's the choice.

I think so, I think WL is only a task manager/cascading menu app and does not have any skinning capabilities.
I have to agree. When I installed WA2 for the first time it sucked... I uninstalled the trial and vowed never to try it again. Last night, I don't know why, I decided to give it another shot. Well performance has definately improved. I only had one issue while installing. I told the installer to install the default WA2 theme but for some reason said that the themes.cab file was not signed. When a CAB is running a CAB it won't ask you for permission to run unsigned apps, so I just went to their forums and downloaded the themes.cab by itself and installed it by itself. So far, no lockups and the only slowdown is when refreshing my Today screen. And I have a LOT on my Today screen. I have Spb Mobile Shell, iLauncher, WeatherPanel, WA2, TodayAgenda, hidelogo... so I can live with everything so far! Quite happy actually!
