Talking Max size cooking in BuildOS

Hi everyone, it´s my first post.

Im cooking my own ROM using the BuildOS (THANKS A LOT FOR THIS TOOL ) is fantastic and work fine.

But when I select all the options that I want in my cell, the building log this:

Quote:
Compiled Size (0x40e0000) greater than Max Rom Size (0x38e5800).
Remove 0x7fa800 bytes (8366080 bytes).
I think that 38e5800 is like 58,2 Mbytes (I guess), but im not sure.

My cell is Apache 6700, and have 2G in SD.

* So what is the max size that i can use creating my own ROM?
* Is possible extend more size in that ROM?

Thanks.

Re: Max size cooking in BuildOS

It says to remove 8366080 bytes, which is 7.98 MB. Go through your selections and take out some stuff. If you haven't taken enough out, you'll get another similar message with a smaller number of bytes to take out. Take the number of bytes it gives you and divide that by 1048576 and you'll have the number of MB you still have to remove.

The SD card size has nothing to do with this process. You are flashing to the "boot partition" of the phone's internal memory. That size is a constant, and thus you cannot cram too much into it. That is why you are getting the error message. What you created is too large to fit in the limited space available for your ROM. Hope this helps.

Re: Max size cooking in BuildOS

I used BuildOS and built a very basic ROM, and I can install any program I want, without having to worry about building another ROM with an updated version down the line.
