WEIRD PROBLEM-- PPC 6700 will not vibrate??

I obviously installed or did something that is not allowing the phone to vibrate anymore. I know it's not a hardware issue because the same thing happened yesterday and I took the phone to a Sprint store to exchange for a new one. Now it's happening again. When I got the new phone yesterday, I made sure that the vibrate mode worked. Then after I installed the new AKU 3.3, the vibrate mode was still working. It was something that I did to either the registry or by installing a program and/or hack.

I had Phone Alarm on there, but un-installed it. I also un-installed Microsoft Voice Command. Still won't vibrate!

This is driving me nuts!! Any idea what might be the culprate?

When you set it to vibrate, does the third button down on the left in the comm manager change to vibrate too?

After searching the forums at PDAPhoneHome.com ... I found that this is directly related to the hack which stops the LED lights from blinking.

I have that triangle software PPC-6700 Hacks installed. So I opened the program and allowed the LED lights to flash, and my vibrate now works.

I wish there was a way to stop the LED lights from flashing and still have vibrate mode. You don't understand how damn annoying those LED lights are!!!!! I'm seriously thinking about jamming an ice pick in them or maybe just covering them up with some black electrical tape.

Any ideas on what I should do?

LOL, don't let it get the best of you. You could always put a little silver paint over them . Glad you found a fix. Yet another weird interconnection between two things that shouldn't be connected.

Problem solved! I just got my new black rubber case and holster from Seidio. I put a little bit of black electrical tape over the LED light, then put the black rubber case over it. You wouldn't even know it's there.

The best part is that I have my vibrate function back.

that's not necessarily the case.

I too tried the hack and for awhile stopped the blinking lights. I read somewhere that it eats as much as 10% of your battery life or more?

however a few days later it stopped vibrating (i used triangle hack in order to accomplish the lights).

I uninstalled and it still wouldn't work. I figured something was corrupt s I did a hard reset, no luck.

I read up on another forums ppl having the same issue, but they pressed on the battery itself in order to get it working again. that's right, it appears that sometmes the vibrator stops working altogether, and the only way to get it working again is to press on the battery.

so I removed the door, took the battery out, put it back in, pressed on it, and voila it started working again.

changed the registry manually about the flashing leds and vibrator still works.

so its not necessarily related to flashing leds.

hth,
sledgie

How did you change this to get your lights to work again? I don't know where to go or how to do it.

-Phone will not vibrate once you install this ROM....

actually just a registry edit that re-enables the LED's fixes the vibrate function

Should change that to a ONE .... 1
