Re: sprint insurance replacement
I just got my Mogul from Assurion to replace my 6700. I had my 6700 replaced two weeks ago with a refurb. It had been a nightmare since I walked out of the service center. I upgraded it to a 6.1 rom and thought I could get it working correctly but it would spontaneously do a reset. Since I get a phone allowance from my employer, I sleep with it right beside me.
On Monday night I had a plant go down. I woke in the AM and had to do the usual soft reset to "wake up" my phone. There were 6 crises calls in voice mail that never caused the phone to ring. I called Sprint and raised hold hell and told them I was dropping Sprint. I have 4 phones in my plan. I toild them I would not pay any early plan disconnect fee and would see them in court first. She had me wait on the line, call Lockline and asked them to send me a new phone. She said the $50 fee would be deducted from my bill. She had me go to Sprint's website and pick out the phone I wanted. I went for the Mogul. It arrived about three hours ago and is still charging. |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
The 6700 I received has a bug and will not accept programming. I spent an hour at the store letting them muck with it, 24 hours without any service, and 10 minutes arguing with a phone lady that she would have to reprogram my original 6700 to turn it back up. I hung up on her and suddenly the old 6700 came back with service...TADA. A nice short conversation with Retentions and they are offering me an upgrade to 6800 new for $200. That's a little pricey for me so I'm going to try another refurb 6700.

Re: sprint insurance replacement
Never send them back with a cooked rom, as a word of caution. Always keep the orgianl rom on your computer and flash back to it before sending it in. At least that is what everyone told me when I was new here.

Re: sprint insurance replacement
well i have a mogul now... good bye apache(s). that was much easer then i thought it would be...
so i dont see why it matters what ROM is on the device when you return it... they are going to wipe everything anyway when they try to refurb it. plus the first 6700 i a returning has a broken screen so they could tell whats on it anyway |

Re: sprint insurance replacement
My buddy got a 6700 and they sent him a brand new 6800 in the box. just go to a sprint retailer and do the advanced exchange program. unless you smashed or got it wet they should replace it just tell them you do not want another 6700 and unless you get a douche at the sprint store you should be in buisness. i have been through 3 moguls and they tried sending me a touch i said NO!

Re: sprint insurance replacement
I went through four 6700, I still think it was a great phone. When I took my 4th one in becuase of the usb port, they gave me a brand new Mogul. Knock on wood, I have been very careful with it and not had any of the problems that others have reported here (Thank you Lord).
