Re: stuck in rome! (roaming)

Never heard of this issue myself but it sounds to me like where you live and the placement of the towers and the hand-shaking of the PPC to those towers. That is why you can reboot the device and go back to a non-roaming mode. That also may explain why I (and maybe its just me) havent ever heard of this and why it has happened to you on two different phones with the first having a long term effect.

Re: stuck in rome! (roaming)

so what your saying (and its just you) is that its probably not the phone and rather the network that is causing this issue.

BTW i am glad this is a new issue and I'm not getting flamed for asking something that has been asked more then once!

Re: stuck in rome! (roaming)

This is definitely an issue that I have experienced... When I take the bus tunnel out f Seattle, I enter roaming in the tunnel and get 8 miles out of downtown sometimes without my phone coming out of roaming.

I have been working on my phone and I replaced the battery and haven't really seen a problem with this since. Its only been about a week, but if your battery is not up to par, you may want to start there. Its worth a shot if you have an extra battery or can trade someone for a few. I'll let you know if I see the issue again now that I have a new battery.
