I read all that, but don't get how to change the colors and add my own tsk(which is allblack) as the default startup.

Can someone please put together a good tutorial for it?

You need to change\rename the default stwater gif. Browse the kitchen by viewing it as thumbnails. You will be able to see all of the various image files. Find the one that looks like the standard blue startup screen. It should be called default_stwater.gif or something like that. Replace this with whatever background you want. You will then need to have the correct top and bottom bar colors in hex format. If you get that far, let me know. When I get home, I will dig up the reg entries you will need.

You can leave the defaults in colonel, it uses them only if there is no other ones.

Really? The only way I could get it to change (for initial boot at least) was to replace the default. I thought there should be another way, but once I got it to work, I moved on.

Well... worked for me. You can try my OEM and see if it works for you too... but then I've got all the reg entries in the OEM as well, maybe one of them is the magic?

Importing a .tsk file in Settings/Today applet doesn’t do anything fancy: it just extracts the two (Start Menu and Today) background images from the .tsk file and copies them into \Windows, overwriting the old files (if there were any of them). It also extracts the new system color scheme from the .tsk file and loads it in the Registry. Finally, it forces the Today screen to be updated (which you must do by hand, for example by directly executing my above-introduced Today refresher app, if you do the copying of image files to \Windows by hand, without using any external tools).

This is the crossbow theme with yellow letters, installed and used on boot.

You can use it as is, or edit it to remove the yellow font color

Generally speaking, use it as a guide for 'boot installed' themes - to add a theme to rom you just need the .tsk file in rom, then it is choosable as a theme. To have it be pre-installed you need to get the 4 gif files for the background out of the .tsk file (install it as the current theme, then copy them out) in the rom as well - obviously you can only have 1 theme as your ready to go theme in a rom. The rgu file would not be needed for a theme you can choose, but is needed for a preinstalled theme - it should be late in the build order :D

.rgu file options...

This OEM has the font colors for the theme and top bar set to yellow... remove the following for white, or change as desired for your colors:

Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Color]
"4"=hex:ff,ff,00,00
"9"=hex:ff,ff,00,00
"39"=hex:ff,ff,00,00

See http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...sMobile5Colors

Just change the above as desired...

Thank you very very much!

My question is do I treat the Basehue in this way? Or is it just like the others?

"Basehue"=hex:160
or
"Basehus"=160
or
??????

Thanks for your patience.

Someone just deleted almost all the OEMs from the FTP. What is up with that???

Perasite 02-25-2007 12:03 AM

Actually someone moved all their's into a subfolder. Check J_ (JBabey OEM) for the ones that are missing.

Alwaysbelieve1 02-25-2007 12:29 AM

There are many, many more than just his that are missing.
