how to brick a 6700

my usb port on the phone isn't working. I want to take it in, but I have wm6 on it. I need to find a way to make the phone not come on .... or erase the wm6. Any ideas ?

you can downgrade via the sd card...

I also heard an unfortunate incident of someone accidentally dropping the phone on the ground breaking the screen on the way to bring it to the store.

i have insurance on the phone..... if i don't break it... i don't have to pay the 50 bucks... so i need it to look like it just quit showing the screen

What about overvolting it... or electronically damaging it? If you can do that without making it look obvious, that might work for you.

I believe the way to do it from the card is to load the image on the storage card. Then put it in bootloader mode and it will look to the card for the image file.

I resolved this same problem by disassembling my phone & soldering a usb connection to the traces on the circuit board. VERY fine work, but it can be done. I was able to flash back to wm2003 and get my phone exchanged.
