Can't flash back to official ROM
I've been trying to flash the original ROM from UTStarcom, without success: the RUU says "this upgrade not designed for this device". Another updater from UTStarcom gives "Error 100: Unable to communicate with the device".
This is consistent with the fact that I can only use the NoID RUU for flashing a kitchen ROM. I guess somehow the device got de-branded, but I am not sure what the RUU checks, what's the mechanism how it knows the ID. Any way to get it back to the old AKU ROM now? |
Re: Can't flash back to official ROM
Unzip the oem installer into a folder and take the files in the output folder and copy them into the NoRUU flash utility then flash it. That should fix your problem.

I used the Titan relocker with no problems.

Re: Can't flash back to official ROM
as far as extracting the files from the exe; you can use winrar to do that. i believe thats what bonginc was talking about.
not sure I would try the Titan unlocker on an Apache or not...might try going into chat and asking the gurus about it. |

Re: Can't flash back to official ROM
Ok, this looks nice and easy but has anyone gotten it to work yet ?
After we run the APACUpgradeUt_noid.exe.....then what.. Where does that leave us ? Does that give the phone back its factory ID so that we can flash it back to factory Rom again ? Thanks... |
Re: Can't flash back to official ROM
Performing the steps I outlined will flash your phone back to the stock ROM. I'm not sure if it will give it back its factory ID.
