Colonel,

I've been tweaking some settings around these keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\pa n
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BTPAN1\Parms
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\l2 cap

and still can't get any PAN to show up on my Winders box. I changed the Bluetooth\pan\ActivateOnBoot to 1 and BTPAN1\parms\AdapterType over to PANU from NAP.

Looks like there are some missing under Bluetooth\pan per this link:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa916487.aspx

Any thoughts on the matter? I'm wondering if there's a DLL missing for this stuff.

Gracias for another good build with extras. Also wondering how to add items to Shortcuts on new tabs? Any hints?

Short

runt, I guess I could. You are the first to ask for this. Do you know why\what it needs?

For those who are having reception problems, use fieldtrial to check your RX power right after a call drops or fails to go through. If you're anywhere near 100 dbm you should expect to have problems no matter what handset you're using.

(P.S. And I'm definitely referring to the 1x section of FieldTrial. The HDR section is only for EV-DO towers which have nothing to do with voice calls.

Well I sat down with both phones. I used the 1x section and every ten secs I jotted the numbers down. Yes the numbers do flucuate, but on the whole the 2.2 is showing better numbers than the 3.3. Also, even though bars are not an exact measurement, it should be noted that at no time is the 2.2 less than one bar ahead of the 3.3.

One thing I noticed in the Field Trial is that the "Slot Cycle Index" for the 2.2 phone was 2 and on the 3.3 it was 1. What is Slot Cycle Index? Does it have an effect?

BTW these are verizon 6700's

The SCI determines how the phone polls the tower for incoming calls.

My SD card dissappeared a few days ago so I assumed I had an old sdmemeory.dll. I deleted the file in /windows but it didn't help. I noticed that in the "Device Information" window it showed when the card was installed and removed.

After some troubleshooting I figured out that the card was seen as "unformatted" by all my card readers so I had to reformat it.

I recommend as others on this site have that you remove your SD card before flashing it.

Rob

I love the Colonel's chicken and ROM

hey how would i add stuff to my ExtRom(verizon) as i like updateing my vx6700, but hate reinstalling my vc1.6 and stuff. like to add it to a ExtRom.

thanks

colonel 02-10-2007 11:04 PM

I have found that the best way is to create your own ms.nbf. The instructions are in the "How to build your own rom" thread. It is really fairly simple. First thing you need to do is to extract the exteneded rom you want. Then add the cabs you want and edit the config.txt. Then you can use the tools and instructions to create your own ms.nbf. That way, when you flash a rom, you can also flash your custom ExtRom. At some point I will probably do a write up on this.

Cool, i will give it a try....

thanks......
