Did some research on VTG, I guess Runt means that the I Blue 737 will not output the VTG which means vector track over the ground. As a pilot that is very useful info.
I really hope buygpsnow is able to add this, I am a pilot and right now trying to pick out an aviation program for the 6700 so I am looking for suggestions.
If anyone has some ideas for aviation apps for the 6700 that they like and why plz advise

official reply from buygpsnow is that they are waiting to hear back from i-Blue to see if they can send out a firmware upgrade to enable it.

So I think I'm going to get the i-blue 737...

Does anyone have any suggestions for a vehicle mount? I'll be using this with a Sprint PPC-6700. Anyone know of a vehicle mount that will charge the bluetooth receiver maybe even has a speaker for the audible directions?

i would get the free mount for the phone, as for the receiver, just put it on the dash.

I concur with runt

I did the same as runt

:D
Works great
Then I just got a cig charger for the 6700

Can you guys hear it okay with just the 6700 speaker? It seems pretty quiet when I try to play music and stuff like that...

Or does that free mount have a speaker?

Question:

Hello,
I just received my i-Blue Edition 2 (i-Blue 737) and I'm wondering if it is possible to enable the VTG NEMA sentence in it. I would like to test it with the software written where I work, but it needs the VTG sentence to work properly.

Solution:

[--- UPDATED: 2/13/2007 3:22:16 PM BY AGENT: Sales Team ---]

The manufacturer told us it is IMPOSSIBLE to get VTG out of the i-Blue which is currently locked down to use those 4 parameters only: GGA, GSA, GSV, RMC

Actually, VTG is no longer used in all new GPS applications because it uses more batteries and CPU processors on the host device. Most new GPS software could derived the VTG data from the 4 fundamental parameters.

VTG is not supported on this device by factory default.

We have send this question to the manufacturer and we hope there could send us a software that could help you turn this on.

I just received my BT receiver today which I bought off of geeks.com for about $45. I am running it with TeleNav and it works GREAT!!!! This is my first GPS experience and i think hooked up with a 2.5mm stereo adaptor and an FM modulator i think it will work fine. The sound is kinda low but the turn by turn stuff is amazing. I always thought GPS just told you how to get there and not pinpoin te your exact location. It's unreal!!!

Can you use the phone while you are using these GPS? Can you use your bluetooth headset while you are connected to the gps unit over bluetooth?
