my memory card cant be found.

hai.this is my first post here but ive been a constant lurker. ive recently acquired a ppc6700 about a month or so ago. i flashed the rom with wm6. anyways. i have a 1gb memory card and for some reason it doesnt show up in file explorer or anything. it works because i can use it with my laptop and camera. when i plug it in the screen will turn on.

theres a little icon through file explorer that looks like the memory card icon but is labeled bluetooth. also, when i tried to change the way pictures are stored when taking pictures it doesnt have the option for memory car.

help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Before we go to a hardware issue, you might want to try some of the following to narrow down the issue. Just because the screen lights up when the card is inserted...just means that the 67 card locking switch noticed a change, but you could have a (hardware issue) cold contact joint, broken pins..etc.

Did it work before you flashed to WM6?

Do a hard reset..if you have alot of contact...d/l PimBackup (freeware) backup the contact and xfer the backup file to the P/C

Try another card<-- also try formating the card..some people have reported working on pc not on 67 and formating had fixed the issue.

Reflash to Orig Rom <--if it still does not work with different cards then I would say you have a hardware issue.

This problem is 99.9% of the time caused by allowing carrier customizations to run. Don't allow them to run. Hard reset, and when the "Customizing in 3 seconds..." pops up, press the reset button.

Alternatively, you can clear your extrom and hard reset.

Or, better yet, flash something from the WM6 kitchen - then it won't matter what's on your ext rom.

Occasionally, this problem is caused from using an SDHC card and not loading the SDHC driver, or a bad card. I've never tried inserting an unformated card, so I don't even know what that looks like.

I also have a 1 gig card that wont run in my phone but does in my pc/camera... weirdly tho, my 2gig card works in everything, but it lives in my phone.
I have reformatted the 1gig card in fat16 and fat32 using vista but it still wont show up on my phone. Both cards are sandisk and I'm running a wm6 kitchen rom.

What I suppose I'm getting at is trying another card before thinking it's a hardware issue... unless someone else has a fix??
