PPC6700 won't turn on out of the blue

hey guys, i hope this is being posted in the right forums. i didn't see any forums that i thought were dedicated to troubleshooting.

ive had a 6700 w/ wm6 running fine for a while now. a few days ago, it died and wouldn't turn on. i left it plugged in and realized that the battery was just so old that it had been drained almost completely and after a while the phone started working again.

today while i was typing a text, the screen slowly started turning completely white and then i couldn't do anything. i hit the soft reset key and the screen went black and the unit hasn't turned on since. i've tried two batteries and it still doesn't work. its been in the charger for about 30-40 minutes also and that didn't do anything either. im going to leave it plugged in overnight but i dont know what to do.

any suggestions would be very appreciated. thank you all in advance for your help in this matter

I have been having a similar problem, but mine has to do with the hardware, once in a while when i go to slide the keyboard out my screen will fade to all white and will not do anything, i have to close it a little harder than normal and it will come back, i know mine is a hardware issue, maybe you can try that and see if it helps

hmm, i tried that but there doesn't seem to be any change. i left it charging since last night and now it shows a solid red light so i know there's at least power going to the device.

Same thing happened to me a few days ago, I thought it was the battery but after trying a couple of other batteries still no luck. I took it to verizon the guy told me the phone was bricked and replaced it with a brand new one. It did cost me 50 bux however, but I am not complaining. It's a good trade off since my phone was pretty old.

Did you use the Overclocking program? (HTC Performance) I read a few different instances where people get a white screen if they overclock the CPU. If that's the case, your phone might be bricked.

However, make sure you're phone isn't just going into bootloader mode. You would see Serial or USB at the top of the screen, but the backlight doesn't turn on, so you'll have to look at it in bright light. Or, try putting your phone into bootloader mode if it's not already there.

Re: PPC6700 won't turn on out of the blue

I use Pocket Hack Master v4.14.033 with mine and overclocked at a constant 520Mhz and I personally have never had any issues. I have used it at extended period of times at 624Mhz w/o ans issues either. But that is not to say it doesnt have adverse affects with other devices. But if you have a solid red LED when charging, doesnt that mean your battery is completely dead and thus will not power up?
