problem connecting to Wi-Fi

when im at my girlfriends place she's the only network i can get so the PPC works fine online....

but when im at work and home... there are so many networks it just keeps showing the "Searching Network" status then tries to connect to my wireless network but NOTHING....

any ideas...

Toronto's downtown has a complete wireless network but theres just so many signals nothing seems to happen when i try to connect..
