2GB TopRam Card took a shit
I have the same problem as the guy above me. I started putting apps on it when it froze. I then pulled it from my computer and inserted into my 6700 and no recognition. So now my phone nor my comp will recognize the card. Grrrrrrrrrrr

Not sure of the brand, sorry. It was a Christmas gift and it doesn't say on the card.
I typed the format code into the command line on my laptop and got some message "unable to format the media volume, current file type is RAW". Tried doing FAT16 and FAT32 with no results. PPC still won't recognize it and Windows XP still won't format it. This card doesn't play well with others : ) Any ideas of other programs to use? I've tried BCWipe but that didn't work. Thanks Ryan |

Mine was working fine awhile and all of a sudden yesterday I go to use iGuidence and it says that my maps are corrupt or missing. I'm like "WTF" and start the proggy again. Still, the same thing.
File Explorer will not recognize my storage card. I have lots of stuff on there that is valuable. Grrr. I say! Grrrr!

Yes, that is my phone. What else do you think it could be?

I had the same problem, it was due to WideAwake's custom ROM. Worked fine until I disable the menu sounds in the control panel, then my storage card would only show in file explorer when I ejected it.
I changed back to TCNZ AKU 2.2, and all is fine again after reformatting my card.

Update to my situation...
A few days ago I bootloaded in AKU 2.2 Beta 2 with Sprint Logo. Also did PRL 20225. (Had the Tekcomm flash before) I loaded all my programs and configured the phone and decided to try the non-functioning 2gb card. Voila!!! Now it shows up on the PPC just fine. My WinXP laptop still will not recognize the card and will not format it. The only way I can access the card from the laptop is with Activesync. I noticed it is quite a bit slower to use in the PPC than it was before it went on strike. Map24 and MSNBC would slow to a crawl (had them installed on the card), so I installed them, along with Sirius, to main memory. No problems with those apps since doing that. All my media plays just fine from the card although when stopping or starting media there is about a 5 second delay before the PPC will accept any other commands. I feel that for some reason there is much slower access to the 2gb card now. BTW the card is half full of media. Any ideas on this guys? |

have you tried changing
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\StorageManager\FATFS\Fla gs to 44 ? default should be 104. Setting to 44 seems to improve it for many people. Perhaps this will help you as well. Additionally, you could try changing FileSystem cache.. see http://www.ppcgeeks.com/wm5-registry...rage+card.html for the large list of WM5 hacks, but here is a snippet: Enable FileSystem cache To enable the FileSystem cache, speeding up overall performance at the risk of the cache not being written on a sudden reset: HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\EnableCache = 1 (DWORD decimal) To disable again: HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\EnableCache = 0 (DWORD decimal) Note that by default, the cache size is zero, and you will see no effect. See "Increase FileSystem cache" to incease the cache size Increase FileSystem cache To increase the file system cache: HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\CacheSize = 4096 (DWORD decimal) To return the file system cache to zero: HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS\CacheSize = 0 (DWORD decimal) You can set the value to pretty much anything you like
