Exclamation How do i do a rom backup / why is it not working...

So i have scoured the web high and low looking for a solution for how to do a rom dump / backup on my ppc 6700 and after sifting through about 30 different web pages (in addition to a board search ) was only able to find this

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/inane/1119

and it doesn't work on mine

i've got my micro sd card (with a mini adapter) all ready and waiting.

I'm wanting to put wm6 on my ppc so I can mess around with alll the cool new stuff.

But i need a backup of the old rom encase something goes wrong with the upgrade / i have to send it in to sprint and I don't want them asking telling me off for having wm6 on it

can anyone help me out ?

thanks

Im almost sure that there is an original rom on the ftp site here.

Ive seen it. Just do a search for the original rom then if you need to you could burn the original rom back from that file instead of trying to backup your specific rom.

The "Stock Roms" do not require the 67 to be placed in the "Bootloader Mode", just run the EXE on a PC and it will reflash via ActiveSync.

The Sprint stock rom referenced is WM5 AKU2.0. That's the last one Sprint sponsored - November 2006.
