you can get the SW from verizon site Here: http://support.vzw.com/how_to_use/xv...re_update.html just checked today to redo mine for a replacement( last day for warranty) hope this helps.

-- what I found appeared to be a patch of some kind, i.e., labelled "AKU 2.0 Fix application." Since I don't operate in kitchen space 24/7, it meant nothing to me, certainly nothing I was ready to commit to flash with no explanation.

But after finding the same update on Sprint's site (below), and unzipping it to see the same flash elements that the Kitchen's updater uses, it's obviously a 2006 WM5 that can be flashed, as J. originally posted.
