Task Menu / Bottom Bar removal

Okay, I know I've seen how to do this somewhere. I can't seem to find how to remove the bar at the bottom of the Today screen that usually has the rotate/power/GPS icons in it. I don't want it there. How does one get rid of it? There's a reg edit for it, yes?

Go to Settings-Personal-Today-Items, then uncheck HTCHomeplug.

I have a 6700, I want the Home Plug-in, I don't want the tiny little icon set at the bottom of the screen.

there is a tool out there, its a exe file from vijay, anyhow it removes the bars, the bottom bar comes back up in applications, but is gone on the home screen.

If i remember ill post the file when I get home.

Also if you use the oemizer (in the tools folder in the kitchen)from tierman you can check not to display those icons in the setup. I believe in the latest kitchen they are off by default when you build a ROM.

Great! Thanks guys! I'll wait for that post, in the mean time I'll look for the file and let you know if I find it.

weird....I replied in here this am, but it's gone.....oh well

attached is the file to remove the bottom bar (calender, contacts), it came from the LG prada plugin. extract the.exe to your 6700 & run it, it will remove the bottom bar, but it will return after soft reset. if u create a shortcut to it & place it in the windows/startup, it will be removed on reset.

there are registry tweaks to remove those other icons, but I do not recall them right now, do a search, it's been posted many times.

Does this remove the bar onlt from the today screen. Does it still come up in programs when needed? Also is there a way to reverse this without a hard reset?

Well I loaded that program and found that you have to run it after any soft reset. The bar comes back. I still like it though. More room on my screen.

yes, only the today screen. the appropriate bottom bar is there when in a program. When you run the program, it removes the bar immediately, but if you soft reset, you have to run the program again, unless you put it in your startup folder.

so yes, if you had it in your startup folder, you would simply delete it to remove the program, then the bottom bar would return on the next soft reset.
