Really nice looking bootup images

I'll volunteer to make some unless you already have some in mind?

Also
Total Commander and TRE would be cool.

If I were cooking a rom/if I knew how to...
I would opt for a "super-clean" rom, instead of a "monster-rom", if you know what I mean.

I also vote for total commander, arcsoft mms, some of the little tweaks like the contact manager (support for adding a number from the call log) and outlook 'mark all as read' and 'delete all'. I also vote for upgrading the .net to v2, and UPX'ing the system .exe and .dll's

I would also vote for a clean rom, instead of a bloated one. I would rather use the default than have to uninstall wisbar/vbar/dialers/etc.

I also agree, since im sure every one uses diffrent apps. Mabey basic things like CF2, onlock, and magic button.

I love coming to this forum now with all the great updates.

When you get everything worked out, will you be creating a guide to make custom roms?

I am only curious because I may want to include a program or two that were, but are no longer available on this site

I would also like to have the extrom unlocked and visible, possibly renamed, by default. As previously mentioned, upxed for space and speed, and cf2. I would like to have the battery icon off the title bar, replaced with the date/time. I would like to have everything that is in the ext rom now (except the adware) preinstalled in ROM so these basic things don't have to be reinstalled everytime, saving ROM room and freeing up the ext rom for optional apps. Maybe a tweak program that makes common registry tweaking easy, this TaskManager App...

http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=...7,15027,page=1

I have live messenger installed that replace the pocket msn, when that goes final, I would highly recommend that. Maybe install the redial app that auto redials busy numbers and the SMS Busy app that sends SMS text messages when you miss a call.

I am not for major changes to the OS, like changing the dial pad or installing GUI software that would change the look or functionality. I use my phone for business and once all that is in the ROM, I cannot uninstall it. I would recommend you use the ext rom to put cabs for these customizing apps and people can optionally install them.

I would also second a quick list of apps/steps are you taking to make the roms, I think I have them but have not had time to do this. I would like to assist in making an AKU 3 rom, using the drivers (video, camera, IOTA) etc from the AKU2. If we could use the same tools/steps I think it would be more productive for sharing.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Keep them coming. I myself was going for the clean rom also. Just basics in the main and other apps in the extrom so that the end user has the option to remove from there. I have found I can upx some exes but the dlls seem to be a no go or the ones I did complete crapped out my ppc. But ppt.exe alone saves a lot! 2.2mb->617kb or something like that. :P I'm still searching for other things to upx. And as for a tutorial.....sure you know I will with all the tools ya need BUT it won't be until I finish my work here. :P ok? I mean what I could tell you could have u building a custom ROM in no time but it took me a LONG time to learn and track down what was needed, what worked and what didn't since it appears noone really had ever done much on the apache. And it just got a section over there not that long ago. But I done it. Will I be the first to create a custom ROM for apaches? I dunno maybe. Learned it all thanks to xda! And Paul afterwards if u wanna team up or anyone else we can work together on AKU 3.5 just let me know.
~Mike

PS That's no typo either not aku 3.3 or 3.2....3.5! :P

There will be a few released. 1. AKU 2.2 already available. 2. AKU 2.2 custom just the OS. 3. AKU 2.2 full custom rom (radio, os, and extrom) 4. Custom extrom installer. And maybe a verizon custom if interest is shown....

a clean rom and mms would a good basic, and a good start whenever we have to hard reset
