How do you clear device info for resale

Hello and thank you for reading. I'm looking at selling my 6700 on ebay. I have noticed that my cell number is still located in the device info. I have performed a hard reset, which only cleared contacts and calendar. How do I remove my cell number from this device?

Worst comes to worst, just re-flash a new rom. Once the new owner buys it, and verizon re-assigns the ID, it will put their phone number in. it may be pulling it directly from the network.

Thanks Jay6700. I have searched ppcgeek and other forums, but could not find how to re-flash the rom. I found a lot of talk about reflashing. Do you have a quick explanation on how to do this? Thanks!!!!!

You need to state what your carrier is.

I know that verizon has their latest rom uploaded on UTStarcom.com
download the think that says xv6700 aku 3.3 and there will be something you can run inside the installer. Make sure you follow the instructions and if all goes well your phone will be updated to the latest rom that verizon offers. I don't know about the sprint phones though.
