To be specific, the 6700 does not use wireless G so if you do not select MIXED MODE (ie G AND B), it won;t work. The device will see that a wireless network exists, but won;t connect to it.
What I do is not use any encription, no broadcast ssid, and a specific name for the network. On the wireless, I specifiy the network I want and connect when I'm home. PS: I found out about the wireless B when I put in a new wireless router and configured it for G only. My office notebook no longer worked either. |
you guys are right... my router is a wireless AirPlus Xtreme G.
I know that it should be disable, I did that and also I've always been using WEB instead of WPA... I don't think I have wireless B on my router... so I guess I need a new router. I have the choice between Super G or normal G :p nothing yet... I'm going crazy --- edit --- btw, what's WMM Function (Wireless Qos) ?? should I enable it? |
You should have the choice of mixed (which should be b/g/etc...) Check the manual. It is possible it doesn't do b, but that's unlikely...

I have never had to do anything to ever connect to any router.....and i have a dlink g class router....

Do yourself a favor and change your AP channel to either 1 or 11. channel 6 is used by every setup out of the box for all makes and the interference already there from your neighbor's using 6 also can keep you from getting on. get Wi Fi Fo Fum and investigate your environment.

The dlink "AirPlus Xtreme G" router supports b and g modes, just make sure it's not set to only broadcast in g.

I have never had a problem connecting to my Dlink router. As said above you have to set it to "b and g" or it will not work.
I use WPA with a 12 digit alphanumeric preselected key. When I enter the key in the 6700, everything works just fine. |
I have had the ultimate most awful time trying to connect to my DLINK 624.
I think its the D-link honestly. I have tried every configuration possible and while I have gotten it to connect its about as difficult as pleasing a woman. I often have to attempt to connect 20-30 times before it connects. One suggestion I heard but have not tried and its weird but, I am told if you enable bluetooth along with wifi the wifi works in situations it would not normaly. Though this was for WM6?? not sure if this helps at all let along in WM5. Scott |
I've got the DI-624 on mine and it works fine, just set to 128-bit WEP. I would check their downloads page for a firware update before trying much else. They've always seemed to solve problems for me. http://support.dlink.com/downloads/
