blank miniSD

my card is blank/empty now some of my app are not working. does any body knows why my 6700 erase the card or is it my card being gay? I know the card is working right now cuz I just download an email to my card, but I'd like to know if theres a way to prevent this from happening again.

thanks

My 6700 is doing the same thing. At first thought that it was a program causing the SD card to be deleted but your guess is as good as mine. The programs I have installed on my device are Spb Diary, Spb Weather, Spb finance, Virtual Earth Mobile, Magic Button, and Microsoft Reader.

man, this sucks. how often do this problem pop upon the 6700? mine is 1 month and 3 weeks old and first time this happens, my card is 10 months old thou(kingston). also ilauncher is being stupid, sometimes it would say that im not signed in with a trusted certificate or something like that.
thanks for the quick reply.

I personally haven't had this happen but its something I worry about because all the data contained on my minisd. I suggest a backup to be made every so often just in case...

i did a back up with sbp? but it saves on the card so pretty much im toasted, another question since im getting a 2G card, how do i format the card?

Wideawake 11-22-2006 08:08 PM

stick in ur computer right click on the drive is in and format...or there are some ppc format programs. And a spb backup won't cover the card u have to do that manually. ;)

Grrrrr!

You know what the samething happen to me. Where I had files saved on my 1gig mini sd card. Out of the blue I went to go access the files and they were gone. Now the weird thing is when I go to the memory on my pda. Check the how much memory I used on the storage card its still showing like I have all the info still there. Weird thing is I had one folder name cab applications. Which was lost but once I created another folder under the same name. I noticed out of the blue that I had two folder with the title "Cab applications" and one of them was the original one I lost! So of course I deleted the new one. So I'm praying and hoping that my other files come back especially all my movies I had saved. Well actually videos I recorded personal ones. Since its still showing the memory being used.

hmmm, I didn't check on mine. im not using it anymore but have you inserted the card in the computer and seen the files from there?

kpucummin 11-26-2006 01:01 PM

Well you know what I haven't tried to access it via the sd slot on my pc. Will do it today when I get off work here at verizon wireless on a sunday lol. But I remember it happen to my last sd card which is why I replaced it. And I tried to access that from my pc and the files wouldn't show up. Even though it showed my memory card was still almost full. From the files I had saved on there. So I had to reformat the card so I could use it. I ended up taking it back and getting a new card. Which is the one I have now so I will do it today and let you know the outcome.
