PPC-6700 to Verizon / pageplus ARGH

Hi folks

Newbie here

I picked up a Sprint PPC-6700 thinking it would be easy to convert to Verizon to use on page plus.

Wow, what a mistake.

I've spent about 10 hours trying to get it working correctly.

I followed this guide:

I'm on bootloader 1.00.00

I've had the phone on PDAjunkie's clean Apache 6.5 ROM.

After a lot of tinkering (and running on my WinXP media server) I've cooked a few WM6.1 ROMs (as verizon carrier, particularly).

PRL has been updated. DMU has been loaded with the public key (as in the above thread). SPC is 000000 thanks to e47. I know the ESN is activated on pageplus.

Here's my status. I cannot dial up pageplus @ *22890 (immediately disconnected). I can dial up Verizon at *228 and program the phone and do an PRL update.

After that, I can call out normally. But I cannot receive calls and I don't get text messages unless I place a call.

I can't load a stock Verizon rom on it either (it tells me invalid device for use). Interestingly when I built a GENERIC rom via ppckitchen it tried to install Sprint customizations upon boot.

EDIT: If I switch the phone to 1X mode (no EVDO and no hybrid mode) I can receive calls. So it's EVDO that is broken.

Any help would be really appreciated.

EDIT2: Went into ##7764726 and tinkered a little and somehow hybrid mode started working! Can get calls now. Data still doesn't work (ERI wouldn't load) - modem disconnects.
