You could try getting a .cab version of the installer from wherever you bought the program. Or search your desktop computer for the .cab file during the installation process (I think they are sometimes stored under Program Files\Microsoft Activesync). Good luck.

Nope no cab program found. It wasnt stored in the active sync folder during the install. Maybe since AoE is originally a microsoft program they made it not to work with the newest active sync. Gah its making me mad, hopefully I get a refund.

If you don't click install when it shows up on the screen asking you where you want it to install to you can find the cab.
So when that screen shows up. Switch over to Total Commander and search for *.cab and select "Not older than: 1 day(s)" If you don't have total commander you can most likely find it at: \Application Data\Volatile\ But again. This has to be while the install screen is still up. It deletes the cab after its done installing. I don't exactly know if this works with AoE, but it has worked with every program I've tried. |

I said that nothing changes on my PPC screen. It never asks me where I want to install it, it only partially acts like it is installing from the desktop's view. I think its a problem with the installer vs. active sync version because only certain programs have had this problem for me.
I'm just not sure how to fix it. |

I'm doing it now:
Age of Empires Gold Edition (ARM)_1.07.exe is the file I have MS ActiveSync Version 4.5.0 (Build 5096) Ran installation on computer and it did active the installation Located the cab @: Windows\AppMgr\Install\Ziosoft Age of Empires Gold Edition.CAB (I have saved it to my hard drive. It is 8.0M large) Installing.... |

Installed fine. BUT....
Just realized something. It first copies that huge 8M file to your ppc before it attempts to install. I'm almost willing to bet $ that you don't have 8M available on your phone. Check that.... |
