Rob,
I am about to pull the trigger on the B7 as I've been waiting like a good boy for it. A few questions... I installed your B4 "stock Sprint" for exactly that reason, it was stock. Storage space on the 6700 is so limited that I need to be really careful of what I put on. Your B4 build was light, kinda sluggish, but light, and that's what was good about it. My only concerns for B7 are the addition of the following programs: Slidesound PHM Notepad GSFinder+ PIM Backup HTC Performance File Dialog Changer v1.66 File Extensions Changer Exactly how much space do these programs that I mentioned above occupy on the ROM? Ideally I'd want a ROM that didn't have those, but that's just my opinion. I'd rather add them later if I saw value of them... I am happy with any other mods you have done, like adding vista sounds, new HTC home, reg hacks, tweaks, etc. I am sure the ROM is probably fantastic, but I'm just wondering how much free space I'll have if I move forward with B7. This is really important to me... Thanks! |
BlueTooth and MSVC
Rob I was wondering if you can tell me what I need to do to get more volume out of my earpiece. I have seen a lot of stuff about registry tweaks and downloads that say it corrects it. I just was not sure what you would recommend when running your ROM. Thanks for your help. I have had absolutely no problems with this rom. Thanks for the time you spend on this stuff.

That's why the ROM kitchen is ideal for the Apache... it lets you build in the programs you like into the ROM itself, saving your valuable program storage partition for user data and/or additional applications. But in any case, these extra programs Rob added don't affect your usable storage space at all. They are simply taking up space that would otherwise be wasted on your device. Hope that helps. |
luv2chill,
That was the answer I was looking for :) Thanks... Rob, please disregard my last post, I am good to go for the upgrade, thanks again! Quote:

I have the Verizon XV6700 with bootloader 1.04 and have not yet been able to install a sucessful one of these versions from the kitchen or one of the Rob versions. Every time I try, the RUU stops and my computer displays the message :the RUU has stopped unexpectedly. I am using a vista machine and U have the updated drivers referred to in : http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=7049. I have also tried this procedure with the same results on an XP machine. What am I doing wrong????

Quick Question
Okay, I was finally able to download the file. When I unzipped it, it had a few .exe file & a NBF (?) file.
My question is: after hard reset, soft reset @ Customization screen, put phone in bootloader mode, hook up to the USB....which exe file do I run? I know it may seem like a stupid question, but I'm very much a newbie and I thought it's safer to ask than assume. :) Hope I can get a reply soon so I can flash over to this tonight when I get home. Thanks! |

Glad you got this downloaded (looks like you were starting from an old thread, not this one.) You will execute the APACUpgradeUt_noID.exe. Good luck. tmb |

Clean, No Junk???
I just finished installing B7 and I'm playing awith the software, one thing that made Rob to stand out from the crowd was the Clear, No Junk roms, "Stock" roms of WM6 superfast and to the point. Just as you walk away from the cell store with your new shiny device.
Unfortunately the Roms are getting more tweaked and "stuffed" with different software now, I understand that there is so much space wasted in the Stock Roms, but it will be possible to get a B7 build "just" Clean like the first ones Rob made?, from B2 to B4 the battery was great, 1 1/2 day of heavy use without charging, for me that is better that whatever software you can add to the Roms. Please Rob, made a B7.1 clean for us to download :o) |
Anyone from Sprint install this yet? Just waiting to read at least one report!
