Exclamation Updating to last version

I am trying to update to version (build) 4 and I get the same error message (150), saying that the update is not for my device. Is there anything wrong with the file?
The version I have right now is 2, and works very smoothly, and that's exactly why i want to get version 4 t work.
I am using vista and everything works fine (mobile device center)
Thanks!

I believe I tried this with an earlier ROM. Doesn't work with Vista-64. I may be mistaken. I'll check again.

Helmi did a great (unbelievable, actually!) job getting the ball rolling. Rob's just picked up helmi's ball and run with it.
Thanks, perfect answer. Appreciate it.

Yes, same directions. Carrier customizations are not auto loaded on first boot, but they are still in the ext_rom. You don't need them anyway. The ones you need are built into WM6. lastly, someone did claim to flash successfully in Vista. I did not purposely do this, but hey, if it works... go for it. To be honest though, I'd stay in XP just to be safe until I can confirm otherwise.

Did you hard reset after the upgrade. You have to hard reset after flashing any rom or else things will go wrong. Also, you shouldn't be able to see your contacts. These rom updates wipe your phone clean, so be sure to BACKUP EVERYTHING before performing an upgrade.

I do have the Sprint version..
Are you doing this in Vista? If so, switch to an XP box. I have not confirmed this working properly in Vista, although others claim it does.

You have to put the device into bootloader mode before starting the upgrade. Otherwise it won't work, or you run the potential risk of getting your device stuck in bootloader mode.

First, don't use Vista to flash roms as of now. I have not confirmed that it works properly. Second, make sure your device is in bootloader mode. It wont work otherwise.

Just upgraded to v4. A couple thoughts.

First, so far, this may be the best ROM I've ever had on this device. Admittedly, I've only had it on for an hour, so I've not tested everything yet, but I love how clean it is.

Now the comments.
A) I like the fact that you didn't include SDHC support. I need it, but I've heard people with non-SDHC cards have had problems. I don't mind installing this piece myself. I have the .cab on my PC, so it's no issue installing it whenever I need it. This might be a good thing for your downloads section though.

B) Office 2007! Thanks!

C) Still appears to be HTC Home 1.5.x. I'm guessing that upgrade didn't go as well as you'd hoped. That's ok. I more than appreciate the effort.

D) There are contacts in my HTC Home dialer tab. Vision, Bryan, and Customer Support. Did I screw up and get those in there somehow, or are they in the ROM?

E) While I don't think the HTC Home Customizer should be in the ROM, could you add it to your download links, please? Thanks.

F) With v2, there was a "Documents" shortcut in my Start menu that opened up File Explorer to "My Documents" folder. That's gone and it doesn't appear that I can add it using the "Menus" setting. Is there a magic trick I can do to get that back?

G) I'm still having my issue with Pocket Controller, but I've narrowed it down a bit. It and ActiveSync appear to be fighting. It's trying to connect to the device before ActiveSync has completed its connection. I need to wait for ActiveSync to establish a connection before Pocket Controller takes over. I doubt you did anything with that, so I'm going to check to see if Pocket Controller has a support site. If not, I'll post something here. For now, I can set up Pocket Controller not to automatically start up, and I'm fine.

Ok, so that's 7 things. It probably sounds like I hate this ROM, but I don't. Other than my Pocket Controller issue, which I don't think is caused by your stuff, everything is teeny tiny.

A few weeks ago, I realized that my phone's almost 2 years old and that I can get an upgrade soon and I was a little nervous and excited about that. Now I have no reason to upgrade, and its thanks to the efforts of people like you and helmi.

I had to hard reset my device this morning. Several soft resets froze up on my Today screen. That's the first time I've ever had to do that. If it happens again, I will try to start looking for a pattern.

As for issue "F", it appears to me that the default File Explorer has changed in v4 from what it was in v2. The one in v2 was similar to Resco, but not quite (Resco was also installed, I think). The one in v4 appears to be the same thing I had in WM5. Or am I missing something?
