WM6 Getting Bloated...

I have a desire to install more apps on my 6700, but this WM6 install has a ton of things that I don't want. I try to delete the apps I don't want from the Windows directory but I it is not allowing me to delete them. Any one know how to get around this?

the programs are part of the rom. you cannot delete them. you do realize that these programs do NOT take up any part of your usable space right?

I install all of my apps to my external storage... never had an issue.
Occasionally my phone doesn't see the card until i take it out and put it back in, but I attribute that to buying a no-name brand el-cheapo card.

I have a kingston 2 Gig card and every so often my device reads that I have a Storage Card, and Storage Card2, what really happens is that somehow it loses the physical storage card, but somehow still thinks that it has the storage card and now has to rename my physical card to keep from having two identical card names. I then just delete the "fake" storage card, soft reset, and rename the real card. It doesn't happen too often, but often enough that I know I do not want to build any of my apps on that foundation. I guess I will just have to be picky about what I install until the kitchen comes out, then I will remove what is not needed.

This usually happens when the Storage Card isn't detected in time when Pocket Outlook is set to store attachments to the Storage Card. It looks like Outlook solves this problem by creating a folder call "Storage Card" on the device and when the miniSD is finally recognized, it takes on the name "Storage Card2". Just rename the folder to "Storage Card3" or whatever, and pop the card out and put it back in. The card will get named correctly and you don't even need to soft reset.

I install alot of things to the storage card, and quite frankly, I don't have any issues with lock ups and stuff like that, it's pretty stable for me.

Once the ROM Kitchen is done, you can add what you like to the ROM and take out what you don't.

I've used the WM5 Kitchen and it's a charm. I've got a stock WM6 on my 6700 now but I'm waiting patiently for the WM6 one so I can get back to my perfect setup.

Anyone have any news on the timeframe for a WM6 Kitchen?

-Eric
