Help!:violent2:

WM5 used to do that to me at least once a month. I have been real happy with WM6 and today it locked up hard and had to give it the 3 finger salute, shame, I lost notes from this morning, thank God for backups. Sync often and remember it is basically a small computer and it happens. WM6 has proved much more stable for me and my screen alignment problems are much better so far. I'de like a stripped down version and all my "real" favorite apps to appear on a hard reset. Barely have time as it is.

My was working fine until today. I installed MagiCall on my phone and to my surprise it locked immediately. Can anyone suggest another program that does work with this ROM update?

Thanks

Also, I have not found the place to make sure that a close gets rid of programs from memory -- most programs seem to do so, but not all, but I was curious more than anything else to verify the setting.

Thanks.

It's one feature of Wisbar Advance 3 from lakeridgesoftware.com. I'm sure there are other programs that can do this, I just don't know of any off hand. WA3 also will truly close programs for you... another nice feature.

which one should I download?

I have an XV6700 and I do not know which ROM to download/install... just "Verizon" or the "1.02 bootloader"

Thanks!

Newer versions from Verizon like mine are 2.02, but you can verify before you pull the trigger by looking at the dark screen in bootloader mode (power + record + stylus reset). I believe you only need to worry if you specifically have 1.02.

Verizonguy's Helmi WM6 devel4 is also a choice, which I am working with now. Some issues, but they may mostly be added software related. He has removed some programs and his ROM is more lean, with more storage space available. Look at Helmi's included programs and see if you want them all or a leaner approach. Or try both.http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I've been having some serious resetting issues [meaning that when I soft reset, VC would not load correctly or the device would freeze before the reset was complete or not everything would load correctly; I was also getting random freezes during the day] for a few weeks. I was just about ready to do a hard reset and start from scratch when I tried uninstalling programs one at a time. It only took one. I love the program and what it does, but phoneAlarm seems to have been causing most of the issues. Soft resets are now consistent and quick. I do miss having my profiles set properly and my BT headset doesn't automatically connect all the time, but I think I can handle it.
I doubt that pA was doing all this itself- my guess is that it was a conflict with at least one other program and possibly with the bastard ROM. But the device is a pleasure again.
Has anyone else had any issues with pA?
Is anyone else using any of the related programs successfully? [Spb Phone Suite, SBSH PhoneWeaver, etc.]

Funny you bring this up, I uninstalled Phone Alarm about a week and a half ago.
I was still getting freezes and VC not loading properly and slow restart.
I just put the latest version in, and it doesn't seem to be affecting it one way or the other, so I don't think it's PA?
Also, does anyone have any clue as to in my documents now I have a Today.log that just keeps growing and growing. I've been deleting it, it comes back, then I delete it every day now. Don't know what it's associated with, because I don't remember it being there before? Very wierd, but I wondered why my memory was going down, discovered it was 3 megs, now I delete it every time it hits 200 kb.

All the hiccups were happening after I started using the pA betas for 1.62 and continued for me when I installed the 1.62 release. 1.61 was actually pretty good, but I'm just going to go without for a while.

I don't have anything called Today.log in My Documents.
