Cripes. I obviously need sleep. Run updater again, it should be there.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

I tried reinstalling BuildOS and now it can't find any of the files that are supposedly available to be updated. Also, none of the links in the first post work. Maybe the files are still around, just not where the updater is looking for them?

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Well, I got it installed and booted. Seems to have a small problem with the first screen alignment page. It never gives the message tap to align screen, fact it seems to lock there till you do a soft reset. After the soft reset I still get no message but it will go to the screen if you keep tapping. Trying it out let you know if I find anything else.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Well I seem to be having a bluetooth problem with this build. Trouble shooting see if I can find why.

Trident 09-19-2008 02:16 PM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

NetCF says version 2.0 and only shows Exception messages for 3.5.
Is this correct or is it really installing 3.5?

Modemlink seems to have a duplicate that comes up.

davepmer 09-19-2008 02:32 PM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Well, looking at the source files I believe it is really flashing NetCF 2.0

Robtao 09-19-2008 03:01 PM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Modem Link is listed twice, with an opening message for duplicate Guid. The Wmodem selection forces the first one to be selected.
No big deal.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

HTC Audio Manager won't launch. Says to re-install it. D3D driver still doesn't work. Whole build bogs down my phone, guess I'll try a naked install.

davepmer 09-19-2008 03:20 PM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Still unable to find bluetooth problem. As for the first screen alignment screen, that will work correctly if NetCF 3.5 is used instead of NetCF 2.0

Pir8Man 09-19-2008 04:07 PM

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

I had to manually install PPCkitchen.rar. but I finally got into testing this build. I received the mentioned duplicate for ModemLink... here they are:
Apache_Core.rar\SYS\MODEMLINK
SYS_20748_Apache.rar\MODEMLINK

just an oversight by ppckitchen.

I removed it from Apache_Core.rar. (wild guess)

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

I'm still having to Align screen manually; no big deal.
But I haven't been able to get it to sync using A/S yet. On my third flash.
That is a problem.
Is there something that needs to be included to make this work?

--------------
Made a few changes... don't remember exactly what, but I know one of them was the HTC Networking and now I'm syncing.

One other thing I noticed- when I make changes to S2U2 settings, I get an error. I'm guessing that it's because it's trying to save settings to a place that it doesn't recognize. Any way to work around this?
If not, can anyone provide the S2U2 final released version in CAB form so I can install it after another flash without it?

-----------------------------
Looks like I was optimistic too early.
I got a little further in the syncing process, but got stuck while "looking for changes". I soft reset when it hung on Attention required for OneNote and as soon as I did, I got the message about combining or replacing my data. But by that time, it was too late. Now when I connect the USB cable it just tries to connect and fails.
:(

anyone else having problems where texting on this is extra slow like it takes a very long time to load if you need to open a message

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Well, bluetooth problem is fixable. I used a shotgun approach to fix it so I will have to go back through to find what file(s) are actually the problem.

Suprised it's including that...it shouldn't be. There will be a new update shortly that has .NetCF 3.5 included by default.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

I am having the same modem duplicate issue as all. Alignment thingy too... but I didn't have to reset for that... just went to manually align it. I noticed though that acbPower Meter doesnt work because of no signed certificate?? Same with Advanced Configuration. Bluetooth seems improved for me, at least for Music output... but I don't know about battery yet. I havent seen the drain on this build.

So far, doesnt seem bad. Havent really stress tested it yet. I must say though that my first Active Sync was INSTANT! That is something that no other build ever succeeded well at.

Cant wait for some of the minor tweaks to this build. Great first launch.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Ok, before you do the new update to change to NetCF 3.5 you also need to change S2U2v files, the sprite Backup Files, and HTC Audio Manager files all located in PPCKitchen_OEM.rar I used the ones from the previous PPCGeeks_OEM.rar and they seem to work ok. Also, I changed OEM_BluetoothSettings.dll, OEM_Headsetdriver both in Drivers_Apache.rar . I used the ones from the old Apache_Helmi_WM6.1.rar file. Also, I changed Bluetooth, BTDUN, Bth_A2DP, Bth_HID and added Bluetooth_Lang_0409 and Bth_A2DP_Lang_0409 all in SYS_20748_Apache.rar and again I used the ones from the old Apache_Helmi_WM6.1.rar file.

I get the certificate problem on a grip of apps. HTC audio manager, Advanced Configuration Tool, and HTC Album are the big ones. ](*,)

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

ok, I added the CF 2.0 and that took care of the certificate problems for most apps. The nuePerformace program complains about an out-of-date cf.

Confirmed that it IS installing .netCF 2 instead of 3.5, installed 3.5 manually from MS and everything works properly now.

Before, phone wouldn't ring and many apps wouldn't work. After install of 3.5, calls ring through and all apps appear to be working.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Not sure what was giving me the errors, maybe windows firewall? I disabled it and re-enabled it and everything started working properly again. Now to flash my phone.

EDIT: So far my only issues are Modem Link, which I get the duplicate error and it always selects itself and also seems to be including itself in the ROM even though I don't want it and deselect it and I also have to reset after it gets to the first WM screen. When it first boots, it will get to that screen and make the sound as if it wants me to tap the screen, but until I restart it, it won't actually do anything.

I'm getting a File Create Error with PPCKitchen_OEM.rar. Flashes last night, but tonight, no dice :(. I tried to download it manually, but the links dont seem to work right now.

Titan kitchen is available from the Updater or manual downloads.

Is it just me that is finding that none of the files appear to be there?
The link to BuildOS Installer gives me a 404 error.
The updater says File Not Found for everything.
[I really f'ed up trying to fix the 20748 Kitchen and uninstalled everything- so I managed to re-install using the BuildOS Installer I downloaded the other day, but that's as far as it goes. :( ]

i put NetCF3.5 in the USER_OEM folder from ppcgeeks_oem.rar, then selected it for building. Made my rom MUCH more operable!

I found I had to install each component one-by-one to get the whole new install. I think the server is overloaded with traffic.

I was having the same problems yesterday and it started working on it's own eventually, though none of the links in the first post work as you said. Try changing the URL for the downloads folder so that "downloads" has a capitol "D" and it should work so that you can download things manually then.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

Updater works fine.. It took only 2 tries to get the files, probably because of traffic so hav to hav a little patience..

will there be an update in the rar for .NET3.5 today or will I have to replace the oem?

S2U2 gave me error on older roms also when saving but it still saved.

this is great to have an update for this Apache as I never upgraded & still have almost a month to wait for the new Diamond PRO phone. Cant wait 2 do performance comparison as this Apache still kicks *** :)

Edit: my stupid Opera-mini made a double post :p

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

EDIT: this was a double post...

Anyone care to sate their pagepool settings for this rom?

I hade to increase the settings in previous roms to 11 to keep it from slowdowns ....

Yep.
I thought- as a someone mentioned earlier- that it was just from a lot of traffic. But Updater hasn't been successful in getting anything. I've downloaded all of them manually and am getting ready to move them over to their appropriate folders.
[I need to be done prior to 4:30pm...]

----
Is there a place where we can see what file goes where? It looks like BuildOS isn't seeing things where it expects to- likely because I've put the files in the wrong places.

I have a pagepool maxed to 16. Although that is what I typically did. But I find myself wondering why I have no memory available when I try to launch YouTube. Do I not correctly understand pagepool?
