Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

I am having problems with all the roms I cook up with this kitchen in that I can't select multiple email messages to delete. I have to do it one at a time. I've tried using just the standard selections file and many other combinations but it this never seems to work. I've always been able to highlight mutiple emails by just dragging the stylus over them (WM5, WM6.0). Then select delete or whatever from the drop down menu. Am I missing something. I've run the updater. I have an XV6700.
Thanks for your help.
Jeff

PS. Otherwise things seem to be working well.

This ROM is really unusable for me.

HTC Home doesn't work at all.

Messaging takes minutes for each text message to open, and then I can't send replies.

I loaded my contacts in with dotfred PIMBackup, but when I open my contacts, none are listed.

I've tried the Patches folder with the old service.exe folder in it, but that hasn't helped at all. The worst part is that I can't seem to cook up a ROM based on the older Helmi release, which was stable for me. I get a bunch of errors, and many needed options are missing from the selection screen.

Ideas Yes, make shure your selections file you are using is using proper files.. Select the "Apache_WM6.1_20748 Selections" file.
If you have multiple Builds and rename original selections files, then you may not actually be using the correct build.... REDOWNLOAD selections file.

ALSO,If you goto:
C:\Program Files\PPCkitchen.org\BuildOS\Kitchens\SYS_20748_Ap ache.rar you will actually see the "NetCF3.5" folder is there ...........soooooo as stated a few hundred posts back, there are some progs that need 2.0 if still dont work under 3.5, so just check that one in kitchen...

I looked in the RAR, and yes, I did see the folder. However, I assure you, no matter how many times I build, it is not there. .netCF3.5 ONLY installed when I made an oem out of the cab and included it in my build.

I am also definitely using the latest kitchen files.

Michael

Can you pm me your OEM for .netCF3.5? Would like to include in my next flash.
Thanks.

.net cf 3.5 is installing fine on mine using 20748... check the rar as he suggested... if you still dont believe, try pulling out the folder and adding it as a patch...

Okay, I'm having issues with my phone...generally freezing, etc... I'm wondering if it is the services.exe. I've seen people suggest to 'replace' it, but I've searched and can't figure where to get the older version they reference or where to put it. Any help would be appreciated.

You'll need to have one of the earlier Kitchens. I found these directions for you earlier in this thread. They will work with any services.exe folder from a kitchen that worked earlier for you- I'm using the one from the 19716 kitchen, but I've heard that others are using different ones.

Open up Apache_Helmi_WM6.1.rar. then browse to /SYS/OS. in this folder you will find a folder called "services.exe". click and drag that folder to your desktop.

Then browse to C:\Program Files\PPCkitchen.org\BuildOS\. Create a folder here called "Patches". Place the services.exe folder from your desktop in the new folder at C:\Program Files\PPCkitchen.org\BuildOS\Patches\.

Finally, open up your selextions file in the Projects folder and add following to it:
PatchDir=C:\Program Files\PPCkitchen.org\BuildOS\Patches

that will pick up the patch folder and apply it when you build a rom with that selections file.

Arterion, we all had the same issues you were having. Just follow the instructions carefully and you'll get it to work. It takes a little bit of extra time but it's worth it. This rom is really great.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

I have to comment. This ROM is only really great for short slices of time. I have never had so many different strange and unexplainable behaviors with any previous ROMS. I actually even started removing things thinking it was other programs that were doing it. Nope. It is the ROM. I have to do more soft resets in one day than I have ever had to do in a week with other ROMS. Like I said, it works great for slices of time, but then wierd things start to happen. I am starting to think it is specific to this PORT. Does anyone know when the next PORT is coming?
