Gahhh, if it aint one thing it's another...so why are you using the junk official ROMS again?

Re: A Couple of Problems Need help

Well this all might be a moot point...now when you hard reset it goes straight back into bootloader (see previous post) so now im even more confused...this officially sucks

Re: A Couple of Problems Need help

because the 6.1 roms wouldn't load past the first screen (with the # and letters at the bottom)so um...I have to get it to work somehow so why not put the stock rom back on it and try that...but that doesn't work because of the 120 error...so I'm stuck

I'm reading this http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=1904 Probably just going to make a custom rom with the noid bootloader and pray that the stuck in bootloader goes away

What do you mean when reseting it goes into bootloader? When hard resetting (Two minus - keys plus reset hole) your phone goes into bootloader? Okay the reason why WM6.1 won't get past the screen is because you're putting too much stuff in the your rom. Really, running lean and mean is the way to do it.

Worked great only problem was the contacts "program" wouldnt work. So I said I'll try Lenny's new one 20273. Couldn't get past the first startup/boot screen (pic with # and letters). So I subtracted a bunch of programs tried again...same result. So i said screw it I'll put 19213 back on...same result....tried 19213 with nothing checked...same result.

I am stumped and just thinking about putting the stock rom on it and starting over. Any Ideas??? Also I have bootloader 0.32...yes you read that correctly.

I understand that...hard reset hit n goes back into bootloader. It only started that after the whole vista driver thing...so I reinstalled activesync just to make sure. Then I tried to reset and it stays in bootloader. I tried putting 19213 on it with just the default checks and it hard resets back into bootloader

Wow I am getting lost here. Okay just search for updated drivers and it will overight those other ones, even though those were extracted from ActiveSync, the might be outdated. Your phone has no ROM which is why it's going back into bootloader. I would suggest just using the kitchen to flash to a WM6.1 ROM and be done with it, not to sound mean at all just seriously it looks like going back to OEM ROM is becoming a nightmare.

TheOutlawTorn & PDAPhoneJunkie, I have followed your thread about the Outlaw's problems and I may have a similar situation to Outlaw's but I'm not 100% sure. I want to cook a custom ROM for an Apache 6700 with Bootloader version 0.32 (using Sprint as provider), but the BuildOS Kitchen doesn't seem to support versions prior to 1.00. I have searched and searched this forum and google and I can't find a definitive answer to the questions: Can I upgrade the bootloader from 0.32 to any other version? And, if so, how do I go about upgrading it?

I don't want to even try to upgrade the ROM until I am sure that the old bootloader version issue can be overcome.

By the way, PDAPJ, I viewed some of your YouTube Videos and I like your iphone-like theme. Thanks for making those videos. They are helpful. Are you by chance using PrimeContacts in your ROM? And what phone dialer program are you using?

Regards,
-Carnac

Hello, yes the bootloader needs to be upgraded with a new official ROM. http://handsets.utstar.com/downloads...0_WWE_Ship.exe]Use this here[/url]. Your bootloader will be updated.

I do not use prime Contact. I use iContact. I use these here for dialers.

Re: A Couple of Problems Need help

FYI: PDAJunkie, I tried flashing the device with the old official sprint rom and it worked as expected. After a soft reset, it automatically started installing all the junk sprint customizations and then it did another soft reset. Once it came back up all seemed normal. BUT, when I put it in bootloader mode I see that the version is still v0.32.

Now that I have the old official ROM in hand, do you think I should risk bricking it and proceed with trying to cook a custom ROM using the buildOS kitchen set at the earliest possible bootloader version (ie v1.00)? If I try it and it doesn't work, do you think I can safely revert back to the official junk rom?

Many thanks for sharing your expertise.
