Hi Tiermann, I've tried to using this new rom version. The updated finished already but when I did hard reset, my device only show the PPCGeeks screen in the first and hang. I use Verizon XV6700. Can you give me some information about that problem? Fyi, I tried couple times but the result is the same...hang. Tq.

Any idea if the serial drivers have been updated? (To prevent ActiveSync issues...)

The XIP folder under ROM only has one file in it. Was this a mistake. I copied the contents out of Helmi's just to see if it would work into that folder and it worked for me then but i get rom 716 build 213 lol :)

No, it wasn't a mistake. I might have botched the .rar, however...checking.

Edit: building a new .rar. Will be available in about 45 minutes.
Edit: Available from http://ppckitchen.org/downloads and updater.

The other kitchen (helmi) was based off a leaked rom (19718 ), this version is based off the newest production rom available (kaiser 19213). Production roms typically have fewer issues, though they are "older".

The default selections is close to stock.

HHC isn't working with this... it starts, makes you wait while it unpacks, then:

Error

An unexpected error has occured in homecust.exe... blah blah blah

File or assembly name 'OpenNETCF.Drawing, Version=2.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublickeyToken=E60DBEA84BB431B7', or one of it's dependencies, was not found.

I included .NET CF3.5 RTM in the rom... do I need to find an earlier version or what?

I just tried HHC and it worked fine for me. I don't know if there was a more up-to-date version included with the latest updates that I downloaded or not though, but it worked fine for me.

EDIT: Seems like the typing lag is fixed in this version and the iBliss dialer is working for me now too as it wouldn't let me make calls in the other version of 6.1

Thanks for the new ROM. What I really like is the PIM backup was able to backup and restore all of my threaded messages, where it wasn't working previously. It took a little bit to load the message, but everything was there. Hopefully everything else is working better as well.

I loaded the Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen last night. I had 2 bluetooth headset disconnects today. I am going to give it one more day and if I have anymore bluetooth disconnects then I will go back to Apache WM6.1 Kitchen 19716. 19716 seemed very solid for me.

I'm having wifi connection hassles with this and the WiFi fix does nothing... Activesync restarts itself every 5 minutes and because of that it chews batteries... Might have to go back to Helmis kitchen. It's a shame tho because PIM actually restored all my messages!!!!:drunken:

I tried to build this kitchen with the Wireless Modem (Wmodem) OEM included. It requires the ModemLink OEM as well which is missing from this kitchen rar file.

Ugh! This build killed my apache. I'm getting stuck at the main boot page that has the version info.

I'm trying a mix of things to recover this.

Frenchie,
Did you ever get your phone back up and running? I am stuck in the same place you were and would like to know if and how you recovered.

Thanks,

I'm guessing that you have a 2.X bootloader and have your ROM just over the max size. Try removing a couple programs and run the kitchen again.

I was at that point yesterday as well... Had to reboot into boot loader mode and flash again to the "old" kitchen... Looks like I'm not the only one that had problems with the new one. I hope it gets sorted so I can have something new to play with soon!

Anyone feel like giving some help to a newb?

Im not sure why but my phone is stuck in the main boot page that says usb at the top and v1.00 at the bottom. I havent tried flashing anything to it yet. It froze up one day and I pulled the battery out and got that. ive tried to hardreset and nothing so I was informed to try to load a new rom onto it and am having an issue building one.

Everytime I try to build a rom in the kitchen is says build fails.
Ive tried about 4 different sets of selections but they all fail.
Is there a rom that someone built and saved that they wouldnt mind uploading so I cna open it in the kitchen and flash it to the phone to see if it will work?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Thomas

Build a smaller rom in the kitchen. The last line of the build status window will tell you how many bytes you need to remove. The easiest thing is to not select any additional OEMs, build, and flash.

Build a smaller rom. 6.1 is bigger than 6, so you won't be able to include as much in your rom as used to.

Re: Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen

Ahh figured that much.

I reflashed to hemli's rom which worked.

I am running the 2.02 bootloader. I'm going to reflash right now and see if it works.

Re: Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen

Thanks for the info.

I tried it again with no luck.

I opened the kitchen using helmis rom and just clicked the build rom button without choosing any options. It build successful and attempted to connect to the phone but got a connection issue. It says its unable to connect but the phone is connected, do you have to set a com port in the kitchen or anything to make it connect?

Being the phone is stuck in the boot loader screen m no sure if it is powered on or not.

Thanks for the help,
Thomas

Re: Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen

what was error message? did you select your bootloader version in the REV dropdown? You should get USB connect tones when you plug the device in, even though activesync/mobile device center won't start.

Re: Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen

Its error 101, connection issues.

Ive tried a couple bootloader versions with no luck.

Re: Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen

I have bootloader 1.02 and I still can't build a ROM that will actually boot. I've tried the "select nothing" idea to no avail. I simply can't get Lenny's ROM to work.

Also, I have been getting a lot of missing module errors using Build OS lately, so I uninstalled it, deleted the folder, reinstalled it, and it was stable. But when I ran the Updater, I get a cannot copy error every single time even though I have disabled BuildOS via taskman. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Re: Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen

I can't believe I'm asking this...
How do I select this Kitchen instead of the 19716 Kitchen?
Can I switch back?
I don't see a dropdown or button that allows me to choose which base I'm using.

Re: Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen

Open up the selections text file that comes with the ROM, Apache_LennySh_19213 Selections.txt and it should use this ROM for you then. To go back, just open up a selections file that used the other ROM. A dropdown or menu option to go between the two versions would be nice though.

I understand. I figured I'd get some smart-*** responses. LOL

Not only would it be nice to have a little dropdown or selection button, but some indication other than that background would be great.

I am now having to go back and find all my original selections to create something... it would be so much easier to select my last list and then just change the ROM-base.

Maybe later?

Have you peaked at what's in a selections.txt? Cut & Paste is a wonderful thing.

Re: Apache WM6.1 19213 Kitchen

I got a ROM built... kind of.
I accidentally used b/l 1.00 and when the RUU ran, I got a connection error.
Rebuilding now w/correct 2.02 b/l.

Nice idea to just cut/paste.
Oh, I wish I had a brain.

-----------
Seems that wasn't the issue. Error101 connection issue.
Never had this before.
Ideas?
--------------------
Put device in b/l mode and now ROM is uploading....
That's progress.
--------------------------------
That seems to have done it. The uploader/RUU just wouldn't put the device into bootloader on its own like it used to.
Setting up my "new" device now.
But I'm not installing everything until I'm sure I like this base setup.
