only receive MMS after soft reset?

I have the lastest Helmi 6.1 kitchen with arcsoft 4.2.8.1 MMS and i only receive any MMS AFTER a soft reset.
in the settings i have retrieve messages immediately checked
and for the server settings i have

gateway:
port number: 80
server addresss: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
connect via: verizon wireless
sending size limitation: 400K
WAP version: WAP 2.0

and i can send MMS just fine, the other person gets them just fine.. (and we both have Verizon)
