not sure why you hafta use IE8 Beta 2... but only other thing i can think of would be to uninstall IE8 Beta 2 (temporarily ???)

I just kept on using my last good build- until a few days ago when my Apache stopped syncing reliably and the BT started having fits. I've got a refurbished one being sent to me, so I flashed back to the Sprint OEM. I'm not really going to mess with it any more unless something spectacular shows up as I'm planning on getting the Diamond (or maybe TouchPro) in the next month.

Very strange. I cannot get the Kitchen to complete anything now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. I'm about to uninstall and manually delete everything and then do a totally clean reinstall- but this is really strange.
I either get the .NET errors or something about not being able to find the XIP file.

Well, that seems to be working...

I just got a refurb 6700 in the mail. I tried to put a WM5 AKU3.5 ROM and Helmi's WM6 ROM and both failed. Device just hung in bootloader. It's got v1.00 BL. Is this normal?

yeah im a noob with this phone, i want wm6.1 and i dl the compressed file on my laptop syncd my ppc6700 up to it and copied the file and put it in my storage card n my phone, nothing happened, what do i do fellow ppc'rs?

First, welcome here.
Second, you have much to learn. The kitchen is the program that installs the OS on your phone, not activesync and your storage card.
http://ppckitchen.org/ Go here. Download the kitchen and run the installer on your PC.
Read the instructions and get familiar with the process BEFORE you do anything, or you'll wind up with a fancy paperweight that used to be a phone. Use the search tab (right under the device pictures, second from right) when you get stuck. Hint: GAMedic has written a how-to-flash guide. Search for that, and you'll get all the info you need to accomplish the process.

Last: I and others here are willing to help but you gotta meet us halfway and research and learn to avoid getting flamed for posts such as this. Study up, use the tools here and if you get stuck let us know.

It is an IE 8 problem and you will have to uninstall it. Once I did that the kitchen worked fine.

yes, IE8 is the source of evil. I suggest removing it.

If you really must have IE8 before a patch gets implemented, you can remove/comment out the BackgroundImage= line in the kitchen_config.txt file in the .rar.
