Which prl to get and why

I know I did search but I've yet to find a complete answer. Here is my problem, I use my phone to surf the web while at work. Long story but I'm on for about 8+ hours a day. Now I'm getting the icon showing evdo but it's not holding and it's making my internet connection screwy. I want the evdo because it is faster, and I read that some of the older prl's are better. how do I know which one to use and why? Should I just wait it out and see if verizon gets all the towers in my area fixed.
