This is the bug collection thread for the Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) 20071217. I'll gather bugs into this first message, so folks don't need to poke all over to find them.
Please note that this thread is for bugs occurring in the ROMs produced via the kitchen, the file contents of it's PPCGeeks OEM package, or problems with their configuration or interaction. Bugs related to BuildOS,the tool used to compile/flash the ROM images, should be posted to it's bug thread, see the quote below for further detail. Quote:

HTC Random access Doesn't work on the 6700. Never did. I tested the one in the kitchen and that one doesn't work either.
|
1. Today agenda isn't working now. Worked fine before. Installed Today agenda via cab and works fine.
2. HTC Task Manager freezes the entire sysytem when you hit icon in to right corner(todaymenu) on first run and after resets. Seems to run ok after that until another reset. Freezes using HTC Home 2.1 and 2.0. |

Flashed and everything looks great!
Two bugs carried over: 1) Pressing the Green phone button brings up the dial pad, but pressing it again doesn't redial the last number. Pressing the talk button on the dialer doesn't either, I have to go into call history to dial. 2) When connected to my BT headset I'm not able to pick up on the handset. This is nice if I have just gotten out of the car (or a meeting) and the phone rings, I can leave the headset connected but talk on the handset. As it is now I have to hit the green talk button, then hit disable head set ASAP or fumble around for the headset. (Ok, so I found a swap button on my dial pad, that helps a lot with this issue) |

2) that's not a bug - it's the way it's designed. |
Green Line Across the Top of the 6700
Morning all,
Ok first off this kitchen is soo good. You guys have done a fantastic job in keeping this up to date, and I have learned soo much about my phone and how I can customize it. You have saved me a costly upgrade to the 6800! I flashed my phone using the new kitchen, plus adding an OEM with my own personal settings. After the hard reset I have a strange green line across the top of the phone. Sometimes it goes about three qtrs of the way across, from left to right, and other times it is completely across the screen. Its weird...I swear I have seen this once before so I am not sure if its kitchen related or not. Thanks, Steve |

If it's the today screen, is it a battery gauge? |

2) This is sad news to me, I've always previously had the ability to control my pick up by which button I push. If I answered with the button on the headset or on my car steering wheel the call came to blue tooth, if I picked up the receiver and hit the hard button the phone knew I wanted to talk on the handset and sent the call there automatically. I guess the last time I can definitively recall this happening is WM5, but I thought it had carried over in WM6 as well for the first few builds. Oh well. |
I didn't try BT on WM5, so maybe it was different, but I'd be suprised if that functionality changed between WM5 and WM6. In the kitchen, the caller id announce over BT is done by redirecting audio to BT. If you undo that, you may recover the functionality you recall - but you'll lose call announce over BT.

HTC Album brings up a file tree before starting with 5 blue boxes at the top, almost like its a foreign application.. no matter what i do i cant stop this from popping up at the beginning everytime i wanna load up htc album. Is this they way its supposed to be? The last versions i had didnt do this.. and this is annoying.

Hey, what happened to my MortPlayer 3.3 skips and stutters with the newest kitchen? I really miss them. Just kidding. This is much better! Did you guys fix something related to SD card playback? I used to have to choose "copy before playing" to clean this up. Now it hasn't skipped at all.
Or it could be related to my recent tragedy. I tried to get Temp Internet and Cookie files to go to my storage card, then ran MemMaid cleanup and it ate most of my storage card files. So I had to reload my music. :-( Edit: Well, I reflashed removing some of the new HTC stuff looking for stability and the skips and stutters came back. So I let it copy the song to main memory before playing. That always works. |
HTC Home 2.1 in the kitchen is compatible with Home Customizer 1.0 Beta 5, so that can be removed from the log. Tested and working.

I've been searching the forums and have found that weatherpanel is the culprit for battery drainage. Can any of you guys figure put what the bugs are in the wp app and hpw to update wp?

Please open an other thread to discuss this further, and WeatherPanel is not part of the default kitchen. |
nevermind, i found the latest htc album cab without directory selection... dunno if theres any compatibility issues with apache wm6, but imma try it out..

Required Module not in Project
I was running the previous kitchen 071117. I have just run 071217, initially without deleting 071177, and downloaded and copied PPCGeeks_OEM.rar to c:\BuildOS. Now when I run the kitchen I get the following error:
Required Module not in Project Module : Flash Video Bundle Ref: blah blah When I click ok, I then get: BuildOS Module not found (blah blah, HTC smartdialing) Module not found (blah blah, Office Excel) Module not found (blah blah, Office Powerpoint) Module not found (blah blah, Office Word) After clicking ok, it takes me to the kitchen, although a number of other programs are missing eg: Microsoft Voice Command, WiFiFoFum, HTC Task Manager, Phone Boost, etc... I'm sure it's user error. I have deleted the directory and reinstalled, and also re-downloaded PPCGeeks_OEM.rar but the same results. Appreciate your thoughts on what I've done wrong. |
You didn't install the OEM.rar correctly. Check your naming and install directory.
|
Thanks, I did change install directory from previous version. So reran 071217, and seems to have fixed it. Thanks
|
I upgraded using the new kitchen and picked from the OEM package to create my rom; now the vibrate won't work. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Flash isn't being detected by some websites.
ex: www.speedtest.net Says it needs Flash version 7. Worked with Verizonguy's last standalone release (A4, prior to his kitchen, which I never messed around with). |

I can confirm that in WM5, while BT headset was connected, you could hit the answer button on the handset and it would answer with the call staying on the phone and not going to the headset.

On another note, two problems:
1. This kitchen makes me encode the file during the build manually(click encode and find the file, click encode). While not a big deal i liked being able to click go, then go to bed and wake up to a ROM ready to be flashed... I know, slow computer. 2. I cant set the data connection to always on without some nasty side effects: a. Answering a phone call defaults to speakerphone even though the phone dosnt know it on speaker phone b. I get about 5 seconds to answer the phone when it rings then it bumps to voicemail, and when I do answer it the status screen says "Unknown" for the caller, call log lists a missed call from the caller immediately followed by the unknown call. These side effect result from both a manual registry edit and using Advanced Config Another note is that when doing a manual reg edit (HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7c4b7a38...}\Connect ions\, is only lists "Data Network Connection" where as it used to say "Verizon Wireless" |

At this point, I think it's something to do with the website's implementation of Flash and not the player, since it seems to work fine on other sites. I couldn't say for sure unless I went back to Verizonguy's A4 build, which I'd rather not do now that I'm hooked on the kitchen. |

I just flashed with a ROM made from the newest Kitchen.
So far, everything is good. Except I can't seem to change my Desktop! It won't change from this blue gradient. ... OK. Now it will change, but only after a reset. Not a huge deal, but not the way it should work. Any ideas? |
Here's one I've not seen, which wasn't a problem for me before this kitchen. Sometimes when I go to answer the phone it answers with the speakerphone on, though I didn't put it there; sometimes it answers normally. Any thoughts?
