This is the bug collection thread for the Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) 071107_1. I'll gather bugs into this first message, so folks don't need to poke all over to find them. Please note that this thread is for bugs occurring in the ROMs produced via the kitchen, the file contents of it's OEM packages, or problems with their configuration or interaction. Bugs related to BuildOS,the tool used to compile/flash the ROM images, should be posted to it's bug thread.

* PimBackup 2.5 and HTC Home Incompatible? I can only give you one data point - it works fine w/o HTC Home (I hates that HTC Home thing, and used PimBackup burned in rom to successfully restore my pre-flash backup without a hitch) |
I was changing reg edits for S2U2 then i soft reseted and the sd card was missing
**Edit - i soft reseted again and it showed back up |
i have a request. is it possible to create a few fields in the kitchen where we can put our contact info along with note (to be baked in) so that we dont have to re-enter each time we hard reset? this would surely make theft recovery easier.

Here are the updated oems of slide to lock and quickmenu. Quickmenu has my resize fix in it from xdev.
SPB Pocket Plus 4.0.1 is in the works. Setup.dll Add's almost 600 reg entry's. Sifting through them and changing them will take a little while. Have it working. except for the smart scrolling. Might have missed a reg entry. Fixed images in Slide2Unlock thanks to schettj. Also fixed missing send/end button image in slide2unlock screen. (File wasn't being renamed) |

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340358 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339786 I've been using the heck out of QuickMenu lately :) Checking out the changes now. Edit: Both submitted for next release of PPCGeeks_OEM. Thanks KidGixxer. That should take care of... -Shortcut for QuickMenu -Updated Slide2Unlock |
I've had trouble restoring my backed up text messages (using PPCPimBackup). I run the restore, and it says that it imported 0 messages (when I have 185). In the end, it's not a big deal, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.
EDIT: I just figured out why it doesn't work. PPCPimBackup has trouble restoring MMS messages (which I didn't know). I just un-checked that portion of the restore and it went through fine. False Alarm (sorta)! |

Ok, noticed this while trying to set an alarm and set my default ringer...
Kitchen 1.0.4/AKU3.5 had ~60 different ringers and sounds in .wav format WM6 kitchen (including the Apache_Helmi_WM6.rar, and all "optional" sound OEMs) has less then 25. Missing in action include: Alarm 1,3,4 - Ringer and some others. I can get a complete list if anyone cares. |
i have trouble with the HTC Camera. the camera starts slowly with a dark screen on for nearly 5 seconds, even if i have changed the registry value from 10 to 1. and also when i press the key to shoot, the photo i get is usually not the one i want.(what i get is what happens 2 seconds later).
and another problem is the slidesound. it worked only for the first time. |

Several of the .wav files are now .wma files - that's good, unless the app you're using only works with .wav files. Still seem to be some ringers missing - specifically the ringer I used to use in aku3.5/1.0.4 kitchen. Will dig around some more... |
Great release!!! Thanks to Helmi & all involved! I flashed my phone with 3 different configs so far to see which one I like. No problems whatsoever. . . . With that, i don't know if the following is a bug or intentional.
Scenario: I go to SETTINGS - BUTTONS or SETTINGS - OWNER INFO and make changes. Whether I tap the screen OK button or the hardware OK button, I am taken out to the PHONE app screen instead of SETTINGS or the TODAY screen. Any thoughts on why the PHONE app comes up? |

When using the Phonepad SIP where are the custom word entries stored, if I wanted to back it up or edit it manually? Thanks in advance.

I'm on Vista x64, and after the new ROM builds, the RUU can't find my phone (Error 101). However, if I launch the RUU from the upgrade folder, it can find my phone. I think it has something to do with privileges on the system, as I get an admin prompt when launching it myself, but not when through BuildOS. I also set the properties of the standard RUU to be run as administrator for all users, but that setting is being ignored apparently.
|
This new build seems faster. Great work. Still playing so if I find any questions I will post. The OEMizer works great for pop email settings now, except when you have different smtp for outgoing mail. If you incoming and outgoing are the same carrier then it is great. The ringtones in the additional ringtone folders don't work. Probably due to the change to WMA you guys just mentioned.

I have been using this kitchen and LOVE it. For some reason, however, I am getting an error message when I try to build the ROM. I added a couple of cabs to the OEMizer and saved that configuration. That's the only change I've made on my end. When I "Build Rom" get errors. The ROM still gets build, but I don't dare to flash it until somebody explains the error. Can anybody help?

IMAP4 emails do not display content after download
2 Attachment(s)
I Notice that most IMAP4 emails do not show up in the view screen. Once the email is downloaded, then open it, you get a blank body (no text or pic) when using GMAIL as IMAP4 configuration, the body is always empty!
if i configure the email as POP3, all the emails show up just fine. Is this a Bug on the Kitchen or Google's side? If it is the kitchen, THIS IS A REPORT FOR THIS BUG. See images below. |
I use two different imap4 accounts with the new kitchen, they work fine. Neither is gmail. Might be a gmail issue - I happen to have a gmail account, I'll give it a go setting up imap for it and let you know.
Ah - and from the gmail site: "# Blackberry, Symbian, Windows Mobile, and Palm mail clients aren't officially supported at this time. " - so it might be that Well... I set it up manually as imap (did not let it get settings from internet, whatever that does) Seems to work fine. Do you have it set up as HTML email? |
After I restore my contacts with PIMbackup or by activesync everything is fine. But when I soft reset, it gets stuck on the welcome screen. I do have over 100 contacts but it wasnt a problem with previous roms. Other than that this rom is nice.

I got mms working on Sprint. If anyone has issues with it in this kitchen use 63.215.195.152 for the server address instead of the mms.sprint..... address.

Note, HTML email is only supported on exchange. I know, BOOOOOGUS. ARGH! Crap. OK, forwarded same email to home account (html and all) - displays exactly perfectly on the device, html formatting and all. So, it's gmail. Wonder if its a setting or something. Weird though, isn't it? |
It is indeed an incompatibility between Gmail's IMAP implementation and the messaging client on Windows Mobile. Next version of the kitchen will revert to autosetting up gmail accounts as POP until Google resolves this.

is it me? or does the bluetooth stereo quality not sound as good as helmi's 1620 build?
|
No answer to my question about the PhonePad dict? :(
|
Question: When I'm connected via bluetooth I'm not able to pick up on the handset.
Previously I've always had two options, if I use the headset to pick up then the call goes to the headset, but if I press the answer button or the green 'phone' button on the handset I could take the call there. This is useful if I'm home or at my desk and don't need the headset - but haven't disconnected it. It's also useful if I need a private call in my car and don't want the car bluetooth to broadcast the call to the car.... |

Install total commander, dutty file manager, resco or one of the other file explorers that allows you to sort files by date. Go into that SIP and add a word to the dictionary. Open up the file explorer, go into \Windows and sort by date. Look for any files created at the exact time you entered the custom word into the dictionary--it will probably be pretty obvious. If you see nothing, then it's possible that the words are getting stored in the registry somewhere. If you suspect that then use a registry editor to dump the entire registry (dotFred Task Manager can do it easily), then add a word to the dictionary, then dump the registry again. You can then bring those files over to the PC and use Windiff, compareit, or another file comparison utility to reveal what key they were added to. I'm just not sure too many people use that SIP (I definitely don't) which explains why no one has answered your question yet. If you dont' want to find it yourself you may just need to give it some time for an answer. |

Great! Thanks for sharing your findings with the group. I'm sure there are other Intellipad users out there who will benefit! :) |

I would leave it, google knows they have a problem and are working on the fix. I expect it will get fixed soon. |
I need to download the latest zip for the OEMs and look at the S2UL OEM again... unless the last guy who did the update also fixed the clock pngs, the oem as originally released didn't contain them (or didnt move them to gfx\clock) so S2UL wasn't displaying the clock when locked. I'd be happy to fix that if its not already done. I didn't notice it until about halfway through the day today. d'oh!
