Re: New BuildOS - Report Bugs Here
run updater. updater should get you the right version - don't check anything, just tell it to proceed (buildos updates is checked by default). If you can't get it to work, then try uninstall/reinstall.

Update fails; PPCGeeks_OEM.rar treated as trojan
I've tried a lot of things to get this to work including complete uninstalls and reinstalls accompanied by deleting the leftover install directory and the temp directory into which the updater downloads its files.
I run the updater and ask it to install the PPCGeeks_OEM.rar, Generic_OEM.rar, 000_Shareware.rar, and Apache_Helmi_WM6.1.rar. After the download completes, it starts installing the files and then aborts saying the PPCGeeks_OEM.rar is missing. In debugging this a bit, I discovered that if I examine the contents of the temp directory where the files get placed, I can watch the PPCGeeks_OEM.rar file get downloaded, but it is immediately deleted. The other files get d/l'ed and they persist. I have the corporate version of McAfee running on this machine and I just looked at the quarantine log and find that there are numerous entries corresponding to my runs of the updater indicating that a trojan was quarantined. Since the McAfee is controlled by corporate IT, it cannot be turned off. I don't believe I'd want to do that anyway until it could be proven to me that the .rar file doesn't contain some sort of trojan. Anyone else seen this? |

Re: Update fails; PPCGeeks_OEM.rar treated as trojan
I should note that the last time I d/l'ed and flashed was in May. That version of the PPCGeeks_OEM.rar file does not cause a problem.

Re: New BuildOS - Report Bugs Here
You can download a current version of buildos from http://ppckitchen.org/downloads/buildos.msi
There was a bad html file in ppcgeeks_oem.rar...it's been removed for next release. The guy with the settings problem...I've seen that problem before. Can't remember exactly what it was...seems like it was specific to a kitchen. Which kitchen were you using? |

Re: New BuildOS - Report Bugs Here
found a bug in the latest ppcgeeks_oem file.. the OEM "HTC GPS Tool" has a new require in it's option.xml file.
<Require>29356830-10de-437d-ad6a-6c7d60a7dea4</Require> this newly required OEM is not in the package thus giving a module not found error. I just removed the require from mine. silly bugs. |
