There's a new version of OEMizer out since 11/08/07, not sure what, if any, of the issues listed above it addresses. Give it a try and report back.
As to the patches folder, it's for the kitchen staff to supply minor fixes to the kitchen without releasing a new kitchen build. You can use it to overwrite files in the kitchen as well, by simply dropping your files in the folder. Currently, it's the only way shy of extracting the .rar contents to do things like dialer and welcomhead96.png replacement. The next version of BuildOS has proper support for core file replacement by OEMs without using the patches folder. |

There is new information about disconnecting and doing a hard reset at the end of the flash, but before that is a screen telling us to disconnect and do a soft reset.
Which is best? |
Not sure if this is a bug or something else, but yea I just saw this as well, however the soft reset with the stylus only seems to work just fine. What is the extra step for?
|
Always hard-reset after a flash.
It's not a new step, it's a replacement for the RUU message which tells you to soft-reset. Not everyone's device ends up clearing the storage after a flash so you have a chance of old storage files remaining. You can end up with dead shortcuts, missing SMS sender, or a bunch of other side effects. |
