And you should not need to do anything except put your desired replacement in the \Patches folder of the kitchen. That will automatically copy it over and overwrite the stock one before the rom is built. There should be no need to remove the one that's inside the rar. |

Windows Media Skipping!
PROGRAMMERS OF WM6 (ANYONE):
Windows media always skips starting any song or video (specially videos), Are there any provision to fix the WMP skipping? (i use TCPMP also, but i prefer WMP) Any light on this would be of great help! |

1. Change the blocksize registry setting (I don't have it handy but if you look for posts by verizonguy you should find it easily). It's on page 2 or 3 of the 20071107_2 bug fix thread I believe. 2. Rebuild your ROM, except choose the SD instead of the SDHC driver. This is a fine option if you don't have any SDHC (4GB or bigger) cards 3. Wait for the next release of the kitchen (tonight or tomorrow most likely) which will have the fixed registry setting in it already. |

thanks... i told you it's been a long one. I went back and found that. I'm not trying to do anything with the image in the kitchen.. but that would be easier given I'm playing around with the rom flash a bunch. thanks... told you I felt like a noob. |

One thing I've noticed about the new WM6 build that I really didn't think about till I saw all the "cant connect to activesync" posts. I installed the activesync mode cab automatically, because it helped to overcome connect errors with previous ROMs but so far I've had zero connect problems. In fact, it connects better with the new kitchen ROM. The little "unrecognised device" balloon pops up for a second sometimes but it connects anyway, regardless of operate or sleep mode or anything. With the WM5 ROMs I would sometimes have to connect in sleep mode and hit the power button to initiate sync. The point is, I installed activesync mode but so far have not had to use it. I don't have a clue as to why it finally works like it's supposed to but just figured I'd post a "hey this works"
My PC is running XP home with activesync 4.5 |

I guess I must clarify. On my XP PC, I have Activesync 4.5 installed. I have the .cab file for Activesync mode in a folder on my storage card, and installed it manually from there after flashing. So far I have not needed to toggle between RNDIS and usb to correct connection problems -w- activesync like I have in past WM5 and WM6 builds. One other thing I do that may be the reason for the success is deleting the device profile from activesync and starting from scratch every flash.

I'm also going to try the one suggestion from gervy about removing the USB driver and letting it reinstall. That seems to work as well --- goes with the issue with plugging into the same usb port each time. Maybe MS will get it right eventually. |
