so let me figure this out because I was reading everything and got very confused.
I dont want to build a custom rom like, i dont care for all the tweaks so much.

im using XV6700

So this is what I understand as of now.
Open the buildos
click verizon
click on features i'd like
click build.
then under tools, goto the "TOOLS" folder and selction verizon.prj
then excecute, all the options are greyed out.
then it says excecution sucessfull or something of the sorts.
then the device software update utility R:31700 D:22060 U:31500 P:658065 window opens.
Am I safe to just plug my phone in now?
Is there ANYTHING MORE i need to know, all that i wrote is what I could understand.

I used buildOS and everything flash correctly as far as I can tell. However, my phone just looks messed up and some of the functionality is all broken. The today screen is messed up.. maybe I have some plug-in compatibility issues or I cooked a bad rom or maybe had the wrong bootloader? So my phone is kind of jacked right now. I tried to reflash my phone but Activesync is all messed up. My computer doesn't connect to my phone anymore so I can't reflash. Anyone have any clues on how to pretty much unbrick this phone?

Windows keeps saying that the "USB Device is not recognized" whenever I plug in my phone. So frustrating that I can't even reflash my phone.

All you need to do is hold down the power button on top and the button on the top left (that has the picture of a cassette tape on it) and while those are held down press your stylus in the reset hole at the bottom. It might take a couple of tries to get it right. Once you do it successfully if you look at the PPC screen in bright light you should be able to make out the word Serial at the top. Connect it to your PC.

Then open up buildos, select your carrier and hit play without selecting anything else--that will build a more or less "stock" WM6 ROM. Proceed through and encode it and flash it.

That should get you back to a working phone.

might be that you put too much into the ROM ...i had that happen to me once
just put it in bootloader mode by pressing the record and power button and pressing the soft reset button and you should be able to flash it again without using ActiveSync ...make sure to take out some of the packages to make your ROM a little smaller

Thanks a lot guys. I was able to reflash my phone. It works now. Now I just have to figure out what I want with all these features. I really liked the GUI verizon_guy's last kitchen installed onto my phone. What option should I build the ROM with to have that rotating messaging tab on the today screen.. the one where you press it and it goes from all your different inboxes and missed calls, etc....?

Verizonguy was nice enough to package up the OEMs he pulled from the Samsung (although is the clock the same one we already have? I think it's called "Samsung Time" over at xda).

Just download the one(s) that you want, extract the folders and put into the user_oem folder in the kitchen. Next time you run buildos you should see them there in the list.

Hey guys,
I'm somewhat of a newbie, but not completely. I loaded the kitchen. Then I made another one and loaded that one. Now, its just frozen at the initial HTC screen with the Helicopters. Resetting it comes back to the same thing.

Any advice how to get past this?

You may have selected a set of OEMs that are not compatible with each other. The primary suspects should be the items under "Today Plugins".
