Re: Windows Mobile 6.5 build 28230 04-18-10

Looks great, but it froze on me twice since I installed it last night. The only thing I can do was remove my battery. It seemed to start when I set up sync with Exchange.

May i ask you how you managed to remove the overlapping icons? I have been playing with os easy kitchen for a while. I took out bootapp.exe from oemoperator rgu file to fix the overlapping issue but customization takes a lot of time.
I might be able to help you out with some other things. Let me know if you want the sorted 23563 for easy kitchen.

Thanks

p.s. congratulations on the build.

it took me a while to find it but i did first you have to change your computer settings so you can see hidden files for more info go here
i would recommend using Ce Registry Editor but you can use it with notepad or word pad but it gets more complicated with those

Instructions for editing with Note Pad or Word Pad
  1. go to
    Code:

    OEM>OEMAPPS
  2. then find this file
    Code:

    20d4ffbc-98b1-4c54-af27-31bf78039cb1.rgu
  3. open it with Word Pad or Note pad
  4. then find
    Code:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\TaskManager:EnableQmenu
  5. change that from 1 to 0
Instruction for editing with Ce Registry Editor
  1. Start Ce Registry Editor
  2. then on top corner go to file open and locate your self to
    Code:

    OEM>OEMAPPS
  3. then find this file
    Code:

    20d4ffbc-98b1-4c54-af27-31bf78039cb1.rgu
  4. then open these folders from the right side
    Code:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\TaskManager:EnableQmenu
  5. Change from 1 to 0
hope this helps
i think BootApp.exe is required and i would like to get that sorted files were you able to build a NBH file with os kitchen i had to use an alternatve to convert NB to NBH thats why i havnt released my Kitchen yet thanks so much and i would like to learn some of your fixes also to help the GSM thread running. thanks

Thanks. Wow that was fast and detailed. Great to hear somebody is using oskitchen.

EnableQmenu:0. That's what I m currently doing. I went through about 1000 files to get this line. But it doesn't still solve the 'Volume Icon' issue. Only way to get that icon was to delete bootapp.exe from the rgu file.

I must say this is the most help i have received from anyone since I started building ROM (about a month ago). I was able to get the nbh file from the existing kitchen. Much appreciated.

To get nbh file:
Open htcrt_devices.ini under Resources->Tools folder. Change Panther to TreoPro, then scroll all the way down and change Panther to TreoPro again. Then it works like a charm. Took me about two weeks to figure this out (no help lol)

[Devices]
Artemis=1
Athena=1
Blackstone=1
.....
TreoPro=1

_____________

[TreoPro]

I'll pm other tricks later tonight.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks.

I cant speak for trickbiker personally but the differences between build 21903 and 28230 are quit significant, 21903 is a Com2 windows build, 28230 is a Com3 build. Do some searching youll find the differences

i agree with raiderfan247365 there is a big difference between 21903 and 28230 visual wise you can compare 28230 build with 21903 visually by looking at Mord4z's 21884 build screen shot and my 28230 screen shot because the visual of 21903 and 21884 are the same i would recommend 21xxx build's because they look more compatible with Treo's screen while the 23xxx and 28xxx builds look to bulky and the bar at the bottom takes a lot of room on the screen and the keyboard looks better on 28xxx build but it takes up more then half of the screen

Sorry for this basic question, due to I found nothing out there... I'd like to know, is there any performance difference between original 6.1 and this new custom 6.5? I just want to have a responsive & functional phone regardless eye candy whatsover. Thanks.

I have an issue with the camera button on the Palm Treo Pro.

I’m getting an warning error when I tried to launch the application i.e. The file "cannot be opened" Any solution or resolution?

Added Screen Capture

there is no app assigned to tap camera button if you hold the camera button then the camera will launch to set an app to the tap camera button go to setting personal then buttons and then select the app you want assigned to that button ie:Voice Command Hope this helps

Good day. I am new to all this, I however have a Unlocked Palm Treo Pro and would like to upgrade the OS. I would like to know all the tools required and how to access them and instructions as i hv no programming skill. I have HARDSPL the device already and hv flashed it with Windows Mobile 6.5 build 21903 which i find to be stable thus far. I tried the Windows Mobile 6.5 build 28230 first but found it rather lacking. So i just would like to learn how I can do it as well and share it on the forum.

No need to apologize i am just happy the link is not dead. It is possible to cook a ROM made for HTC and hv it work on a Palm Treo Pro.

I decided to use OsKitchen and that which i just asked is strictly prohibited. but I know that nothing is official out for the Palm, so how is it done.

since Palm (now owned by HP) didn't release an official ROM some people extracted the ROM from there phone and created the NBH file. To get the updateutility.exe you can get it from any ROM release files and make sure you also get the other support files in there the only file you can delete is the NBH file and replace it with your NBH file hope this helps
