i had the first mango update today and that was it i was pissed i didnt get the rest so i went ahead and forced it

whats the difference between this one and the carrier update? when the carrier update is available will i get a update for that too or i dont have to get any more updates?

I had to do the forced update method. That was a real pain in the &@^* trying to get the timing just right on the disconnect the internet. I'm just glad I only had to do it once for 7403. After that 7720 showed up and that's all it took. Update was around 40 minutes for everything. I didn't have any music or large files to backup either. Took way longer than I thought it would.

@JohnMcD348 that's strange, I didn't have to do any of that. do u have the latest version of Zune installed along with the latest driver update?

I'm pretty sure I have the latest version. I updated it a few weeks back when the new version came out. I'm not at my computer now, I'll check when I get home again and make sure. Strange now, I'm getting the can't find update service error where as I was just getting the 80072FA8 No Update Available error in the beginning.

I guess I'm just an idiot when it comes to this stuff these days.

I'm running the RTM on my Verizon Trophy, but it keeps telling me i'm up to date already. Does the force update trick work for RTM users?

there have been reports that those who have been on the leaked RTM were also able to upgrade either automatically or by using the forced method.

Try again. I had the RTM running on my phone and the update came down.

That sucks! Maybe I'll hold off on updating...

How did you restore it back?

It made a backup when it started the upgrade. I found out the problem. HTC "Connection Setup" ran as soon as Mango loaded the first time. That broke it. I rolled back, removed connection setup, redid the upgrade, all is fine.

So, no registry edits for me :(
