That document said the 24th for the Trophy and it also said the 17th for the HTC Thunderbolt (Android VZW LTE) and they just released the press statement on the Thunderbolt for the release on the 17th.

That is the only think that is still telling me that it might actually show on the 24th.

Based on this, if it will be released on the 24th, we should hear a press statement next Monday.....17 is a Thursday and so is the 24th, they gave the press statement on Monday, so based on this, next Monday(the 21st) would be the date of a press release.

That is about the only thing right now that is holding me to that date. Sprint is getting theirs a few days before and we we know the Trophy is in testing (like the Thunderbolt was), so, it should be coming any day now and next week seems like a real date.

But, web sites have been wrong before but, everything just points to that.

We'll see next Monday...:confused:

Sprint users go away ! This is a thread for Verizon users with Windows phone 7.... :toothy7:

I checked Sprint coverage in my area (about 45 min from Hartford,CT), and out of all carriers Sprint is the worst around here. Even T-mobile has better coverage (and that says a lot, as that is very spotty).

i just noticed that the farther east u go that sprint sucks in area like vt ,me,ma,and nh and verizon is doing major business in those parts hell when i got to vt i didn't even know vzw has like home internet services that was an even bigger shocker ..

I have been looking and I'm fine with finding a great deal if coverage is really good. I have checked everyone, AT&T, T-mobile, Sprint, etc.

Coverage in my area (lower eastern CT), goes Verizon then AT&T, 3rd party Verizon companies, 3rd party AT&T, then Sprint. Sprint is so spotty in my area. Verizon is still king in the area.

So, if I was to leave Verizon because they blow off Windows Phone 7 for a long time (and the Trophy is not released this month), I would lean towards AT&T, not just because their Coverage is almost as good as Verizon, is if I was going to leave a CDMA carrer, I would be going to a GSM carrer (GSM always gets newer phones first).

This is quite off topic here tho, so let's get back on topic.

There has been no new news on WP7 on VZW in the last few days...I've been watching...

They have to release soon...now the nodo update has had most of its kinks ironed out...they would look like bigger jerks for not releasing a phone that they had ready to go...just because its windows.
Its obvious that cdma comes second..especially without solid backing-no advertising whatsoever, and I guess with the whole kin debacle(nice hardeware shafted with a full data plan?????wtf);and then back to back release of the verizon iphone (cool when exclusive but not when available for 50 bucks @ wal mart on every carrier) /and the first 4g device on verizon-((badass fast android phone whose os has held the market against iphone exclusivity)- they have to value this phone as their premiere device).........verizon is going to be cannabalising its own WINNING (sorry) by even mentioning another platform especially one whom it seems to have a strained relationship with.
The upside of this is .. Probably means we get the phone for cheap..and dont forget these phones have only been avalable on gsm in us since nov 8th..so to us early adopting microsofties 4 months and 11 days may seen like an eternity..but its not really that long.We will be entering the winpho7 world like 10000 apps richer than everyone else did ..damn ours has copy and paste guys..;) took the iphone at least 2updates to get there..
In all seriousness tho microsoft needs to fill the gap in marketing that verizon left when they sold their souls to apple and google..ms is in my mind gravely marketingly challenged when it comes to this...you couldnt sell touchhd's to verizon? or sell zunes to anyone...that zune client software alone trounces itunes in form and function(and dont even mention itunes performance on a pc) and unlimited music streaming...-come on ...pull your freaking socks up and SELL IT.
This is it too..the wp7 finally pulls all the ms ecosystem together...we have all been waiting for this for a long time...now all easily interconnected and interactive. pc,xbox,zune,phone,server,mc,and cloud.
Have faith because in spite of themselves i think microsoft are firing on all cylinders..its a big company and if they have just managed to pull all this stuff together then this is the beginning of my totally connected world...and its all gravy from here.
I am going to wait for a wp7 on vzw even if it doesnt come next week(which it will)
because I dont want any other phone,and verizon can only prolong the inevitable.I forecast the next wp7 on vzw will arrive with fanfare.(rant over)

I feel you guys on the WM7 phone. It seemed like an eternity for Sprint to get it. I have the WM6 HTC Touch, 4yrs now, waiting on this phone. Damn thing needs a hard reset bad, but I figure with just a couple days until my new phone it can wait until retirement.

I have to disagree with you guys on the coverage though, Sprint works fine for me. Wife's from Maryland so I am there a lot (Eastern Shore and Baltimore) and I don't have any problems. Frat Brother in NY, NY and I have no problems their either or during the drive. I am from Cleveland and I stream music when we drive to Maryland and NY and I don't have any problems. Don't know why you guys do, maybe it how you have your phones set up.

Dont have problems ...Verizon coverage is good so I dont feel like I need to switch..never dropped a call. Imagio is blazingly fast with teya rom...I dont feel like I need 4g honestly(im sure I wont be able to live without it once I get it)but im not heavily consuming hd video so 3g w/opera mini is quite capable...i get a google search returned in under 2seconds,Ive been running windows mobile for years so those speeds are quite sufficient(if not sick!) sprint/att both look good but they dont have any thing worth jumping ship for..If we didnt jump ship for the hd/hd2- because photon was coming;) we aint jumpin overboard now..

So that is the link for Microsoft people to order and the 800 number to call was listed there, so I said screw it and called it. I asked about a time frame on the HTC Trophy, they knew exactly what I was talking about, and said they just told them last week to say "early 2011" and I said, Early 2011 has come and gone, where is it ? She said that is all the info that they have...

They did not ask if I was a MS employee... call the number if you want, maybe a few people might get a different rep who will give something (note you have to give your number, like when you call verizon, so non verizon customers don't bother). (1-866-208-4394)

There is a rep on listed on the bottom of the offer (the Microsoft Enterprise manager) Steve Sapp, kind of tempted to drop him a line, I did contracting for MS, just because it's not current.....hmmmm

So, still nothing....GRRRRRRR !

BTW...The Microsoft Promo expires on April 1st.... so something (at least for MS employees) should be happening soon...

but that paper said this upcoming thursday for the trophy and last thursday for the thunderbolt...which was dead on...they announced the thunderbolt officially last tuesday so im crossing my fingers for some kind of announcement tomorrow....hopefully

The Thunderbolt was annouced on the Monday before it's release. Unless it's just going to pop on the shelf, we still have not heard anything.

I hope today but, time will tell....

Just getting really sick of waiting for Verizon to get with the program...

David is correct. Thunderbolt was announced on Monday... for Thursday availability.

I'm hoping the phone just shows up on the shelves.. would make sense given VZW distaste for MS.

One week. Then I'm either switching carriers or.. going eyePhone (little barf in my mouth).. :(

Well, CTIA started today and a few vendors and carriers are talking. So far Sprint, Samsung and a few others have said stuff about new product. So , maybe VZW will talk at some point today

I love how they say "We can say with confidence" because what they said was true, the phone would of been release over a month ago. So take this with a grain of salt. CTIA is still going on and Verizon has not talked yet, from what I have heard (Please correct me if I am wrong). It's all up in the air.

If this is true, How much testing do they need to do ? It's not a new model, it's a GSM phone converted over to CDMA (just like 1/2 the phones in Verizon). Gee wiz, verizon has had the Trophy from FCC aproval (Jan 7th I think), plenty of time... Look at the Arrive, it's out

I would not be shocked if we see it this week but, with the release or coming release of the AT&T HD7s (HD7 with a SLCD display), they now I have a phone I would leave Verizon for. I will be testing AT&T with my TP2 if I can (Get SIM unlocked dump a AT&T pre-paid card in) right after the 1st, if we don't have or have a release date by then.

man im getting pissed with this wait ive been waiting since January wtf. im already settling for this phone because normally i dont do phones without keyboards but i want wp7 and i NEED a new phone. not interested in iphone or android ive extensively used both.

I hear you on the testing thing...but you think testing and you are envisioning some guy walking around saying 'can you hear me now?'
but in reality testing to them means they are reverse-optomizing it like they always do..wp7 cant appear to upstage vzws premiere partners-verizon doesn,t get the sweetest phones first by not playing-ball suckers. WP's got built in xbox,zune, access to cloud services, etc ,etc,thats all powerful stuff ... remember when the touch pro came out;-they crippled it (removed ram and underclocked it by 25% -they forced to buy sprint tps ,8-[ ). Seriously guys google -( verizon + crippled ). Im guessing there r gonna f with the sd card..what else can they do..I bet they try to force us to use one that is slower and small (8g max ) .douchebags.and it wont be removable ...I dont think they can f@$k with anything else(Its almost like MS knew).cant wait to see what stupid verizon live tile i have to look at.

yea depending on the VZW ETF u can do that if its less than $300 combined with the price of the arrive for new customers on wirefly ud be paying the same amount that ud pay at a sprint store for an upgrade before the mail in rebate

I've been a Verizon customer for many years now, I've had at least 4-5 phones where Verizon thought it was ok to disable or downgrade features because it fit them. Last one is my current Touch Pro 2 and the FM radio (still sore about that one).

If there is one thing disabled on the first WP7 phone, even the CPU by 5%, I don't care, bye bye Verizon for good. This is someting that pisses me off, we pay full retail for a phone (without a contract or comparable versions for GSM models), but, the company desides to disable somethig because they think they can make more money off it.

It's almost like you buying a New Car with built in GPS but, the dealer disables the GPS system because they want to sell you an external model.

I don't think we have to worry about the Trophy, if you look in the Trophy area on XDA, there is a poster who claims he is a tester with it. HE also claims, 16gb and the FM radio.

It's the 24th....Nothing yet...oh, well disapointed again...Thanks Verizon...

Sprint sucks in my area, I will be testing AT&T....I wanted a HD7 but, T-mobile is not that great in my area too, so with AT&T getting the HD7s (HD7 w/a SLCD display), I will be going for that one.

Annoucement or release by April 1st or I start really testing AT&T in my area.

dont do it--just to spite them stick around were obviously gonna need you; someone is going to have to reverse engineer verizons red meddling tile of costing... but hardware wise they cant change anything...thats the Microsoft rule on this one.(iphone unity verses android fracturing im guessing as the role model on this one) Im sure thats one of the reasons vzw are not pushing it- they didnt get their way...if you look at that fcc ruling the trophy only passed the second set of testing on the 23rd obviosly that puts vzw behind for the 24th...it was however passed before after its original november application ..so even if the original application was pre nodo...the second application could mean nodo plus verizons touch(poo finger). Sprints arrive (the other phone depending on nodo) started testing at fcc.. looks like the 11th feb; passed on feb 24th a whole month earlier as far as i can tell.(..FCC site difficult to navigate)
didnt see anything about november tho!!!?! unless vzw's first application was based on the world phone end of it which means verizon have been testing gsmshit since nov??( without nodo..)and writing tiles. Sprints arrive is not world phone.. It has a smaller screen too; im ok with that.(them having it)

Anyway if it just passed its gonna take a week or 2 to ship and stock...so april 7th for ms employees free phones extension, sounds like reality I dont think they would have pushed it out just one week unless it was firm..I bet it is widely available the week prior to that.. and regardless of any testing the nodo wasnt pushed... and its big red:pale:

Nice find, that just tells me that Verizon WILL not be releasing it this week and possable not next week. Just because their offer expires, does not mean the phone is released, crap it could get released on the 15th, it does not matter.

Again, nothing new expect if your on Verizon your not getting a Windows Phone 7 model any time soon. Phuck Verizon !

Well, still waiting... As far as the tester has said, they have not disabled any features on the phone. They extended the date and I will start testing GSM networks a few days after the first if there is no annoucement or release date.

The release of the HD7s (HD7 with a SLCD display) makes AT&T look good. If I was to change, that is what I would be getting.

I have been waiting from the release of the first models, I am sick of waiting....Almost at the end of my rope here...

Only thing that is ok, IF they end up with it and I don't pay full price, it's only $70 extra for a 1 year contract with VZW.

I figure it is possible that it just got extened a week because it is being released soon. they could have exteneded it by alot further if the phone was to far out. and they could probably assume that most microsoft employees might want to see the phone before the do the deal. so in hopes to entice them release this week and see if anybody else wants to do the deal. but its all speculation i just hope they get it out soon. or i might also consider at&t if it werent for those stupid data caps they use. well heres hoping for next week.

It might be extended to MS employees because of the lack of interest from MS people. This isn't a top of the line WP7 phone, middle of the road according to pundits I see post opinions elsewhere.

I had the Samsung Focus for two months and truly loved it. I wish they would port to CDMA or introduce a similar phone on Verizon.

I read an interesting article that said that the only new phone on Verizon was the new Android unit from HTC. This writer thinks that Verizon is rethinking their view of putting all their eggs in the Android basket. The next 45 days might be interesting for us Verizon users.

Service is just plain different in various parts of the country. I live near Seattle and lined up at the AT&T store, after 4 years with VZW, to get WP7 at launch.

About 60 days later I had to bail my wife and I out of AT&T because the service was just that poor, even with a femtocell at the house we were not able to consistently make calls, and would miss incoming calls. Customer service at the call centers definitely left something to be desired as well after leaving VZW.

So, we went back and at pretty significant expense, not to mention losing WP7 for the time being.

I guess my point is, having the fancy new phone sooner just ain't worth it, if the service isn't there. If you have good service now that you trust, don't put yourself through the headache.

Says testing approval should come next week..and maybe a week to launch.. more or less... so .. basically mid-April.. :(

Somehow.. I almost prefer not knowing so I can just get the eyephone and get it over with.. :(

Hmmmm... I guess I will be calling VZW and telling them I will be going overseas and need a SIM, then I will unlock it so I can test AT&T's service in my area. I have given them plenty of time and over the years with GSM getting better phones years before CDMA, it's all over, I don't care of LTE will change it 3-5 years from now, after 2 I will relook at my options again.

Friday is my last day to find out, then it's a phuck Verizon, after 12-13 years. I will test AT&T for a few weeks, if solid and better or as good than VZW in my area, bye bye.

That HD7s (HD7 w/a SLCD display) makes AT&T very tempting and they finally have a phone I might go over for.
