Re: So, what CDMA carrier will be first ???? (WP7)

So, what have we learned this week so far.....

Exclusive Windows Phone 7 updates from CES 2011

The 7 Pro (FCC approval 10/15/10) and The Trophy (FCC approval 1/6/2011)will NOT be the release phones. According to above.

ยท Look for the HTC Mozart and the Samsung Omnia to be the two launch CDMA devices. It’s unclear as to whether both will be available on Sprint and Verizon, but the devices are confirmed for the respective launches.

Verizon will FINALLY get a f'n iPhone and the annoucment will be on Tuesday from NY (Sick of hearing about it)..and Steve Jobs might show up

Verizon iPhone: everything you need to know -- Engadget

If you go by Pocketnow.com on WP7 CDMA release dates, you'll have no Phuck'n clue...

Dec post.

Windows Phone 7 Coming to Sprint and Verizon Next Month?

Today post

Microsoft Says Sprint and Verizon Getting WP7 Before July

Before July ??? WTF ? Are you F'n kidding me ? If I have to wait till July, I might just say screw it and go with a Vzw iPhone, and I HATE the iPhone...

So, in a nut shell, Microsoft does not have a clue, only people who know is someone high up in the carriers or OEM who are not telling shit. Vzw will not see the Trophy for at least a month to a month and 1/2 (normally takes 3 months to go from FCC approval to store shelves).

Last 2 days of my life wasted trying to find out every bit of info on this subject....CES=worthless

Re: So, what CDMA carrier will be first ???? (WP7)

I looked it over it sucks that there is no definate date. But I'm thinking Sprint will announce the two handsets at CTIA which is in March. Verizon I am unfamiliar with their showcase time, I don't know if its at CES or where ever? The android phones that they are dropping on their network will not be available untill Summer so its alot of flash to start the year. I'm not bitting. Clearly the Evo make other carriers sweat. If we find when Verizon's showcase events last 3 years have been, we probably can trace where the WP7s will pop up. I say this because all Microsoft can do is make software, but this time they had hardware requirements? So CDMA software has been giving out, Its up to the carriers/manufactures to do their thing. I think Verizon and Sprint want to space out their products: Evo Shift comes out Sunday(jan) and Iphone comes out(jan.) So March sales will not be affected as much by WP7 wait, and I will assume Sprint will have another phone in June or Jully, keeping with rotation. But I feel the frustration, maybe a little bit more work could have brought the release up a few months, but without copy paste/ some funtionality it could have turned off consumers right away when there are droids and evos that can do the same?

When has Sprint ever gotten a multi-carrier device first? Verizon has the dollars right now.

Never going to happen, new phones come to companies with the biggest wallet, Verizon and Sprint will fit that bill. I would also find it funny but, I know it would never happen.

More news I found today (posted a few days ago)

Microsoft today gave more specific timing on the launch of Windows Phone 7 phones for CDMA networks, and the software update that will add copy-and-paste. Both are now planned to be available no later than the end of February.
from Microsoft

Microsoft Clarifies Windows Phone 7 Schedule (Phone Scoop)

So, now a little beter news, just when winter is getting close to getting over (can't take it any more, I need to move somewhere tropical) we'll have a WP7 phone to chose from. I just hope it's not just the Trophy on Verizon...

Hey thanks ! I'm looking to find out everything I can on this. I want a WP7 phone now, so if it's out there, I"ll "try" to find it.

As for the bahamas, tempting, if I didn't have all of my family in the New England area, I would of been gone many years ago... Trust me when I say that (my family knows that too...heh)

I hope there is landscape support, the UI looked weird. Since its taking longer to launch cdma - it will be taken care off by then. I'm with ya, where are the devices lol, just put my class/work schedule together on tp2 and was thinking back in nov that I would be using the new OS!

WTF, when is the answer, I wish someone would F'n give us something.

Screw the iPhone, as if VZW was not getting it they might be more interested in getting WP7 models... A better phone anyway...

Just trying to keep this thread updated with every bit of CDMA WP7 news I can find. Please don't forget to hit thanks.

Hell WP7 supporters should actually be glad Verizon isnt launching their WP7 phones around the same time as they do their iphone. If you think sales are disappointing now that would've been a tragedy.
