New: OfficeMobile 6.1 update to support Office2007

If you do not already know this, Microsoft just released OfficeMobile 6.1 update for WM5/WM6 to support Office 2007 format. It is a free update and you can get it HERE.

is office 6.1 an update to office 2007 mobile or office 2003 (which came with the stock ROM)?

It's for WM5 devices so they all have Office 2003.

It won't (can't) overwrite ROM files, so you'll loose 6mb for this. I used a leaked version days ago.

If you really need 2007 support, then it's worth it.

If you don't, then it's not, imo.

Actually it is for both WM5 and WM6. I used MSI extractor and there are four flavors in it for the US english version:

office_smartfon_WM6_131.CAB
office_smartfon_WM6_96.CAB
Office_wpc_WM5.CAB
office_wpc_WM6.CAB

I assume that for WM5 there is only one choice. :) It does allow to install to SD card so hopefully it will not impact as much

"The download you requested is unavailable. If you continue to see this message when trying to access this download, go to the "Search for a Download" area on the Download Center home page"

Looks like that Microsoft pulled the plug since it is possible to bypass their old version check. For those who just missed the boat, you can download from HERE:)
