It wasn't a PPC per se...because PPC's didn't exist then, but it was a "pocket PC" -or let's say a handheld PC...a device that pioneered portable computing...

Psion Organiser II w/ 16K battery-backed memory module

And from that point I was hooked, and I'm pretty sure this is my complete history....and I'm pretty sure I've still got every single one of them in a special box in the basement....

Psion Series 3

A bunch of Sharp Organizer's [a stretch I know]

Palm Pilot 1000

Palm Pilot Professional

Palm III

Palm IIIc

Palm V

Palm Tungsten W

Philips Nino [first real PPC I guess you could say...as we use the term today]

Compaq iPaq 3630 w/ jacket

Treo 600

Treo 650

Treo 700wx

HTC 6800 AKA Mogul / Titan

HTC Touch Pro

Treo Pro

HTC Touch Pro2

Not too shabby...and no I'm not that old...just started early ;)

Mine's a lot like CovKid's. (See my post in the intro forum for my list.)

The Kyocera 7135 on the converged device side.

The Axim x50v on the PPC side.

The Omnia was close.

The TP2 is there.

Started w/a Treo 600, then 650. Tried a few PPC's but hated them all until the 700w came out. My favorite phone of all time.

Anyone have an Xplore phone?
I went from Nokia junk to an Xplore G18... sooo much better.
I had an old palm pda so the OS was the same and it was a phone too... no more 2 x devices.
Now it seems like the dark ages, but at the time it was the kanine's kahoonas!

I started with the Motorola MPx200 back in 2003. It ran Windows Smartphone 2003. The best thing is it wa a beautiful device. Pearl blue and piano black...:)

Then I went to the "MPx" (or MPx300). This was strange because the phone was only available from eBAY and a couple of private sources. It was never officially launched. It's the only time I've anything like that happen with a phone. The dual-hinge was the jizz.

After that I got the commercialy available Motorola MPx220. This one was a huge bummer. Soooo many problems with it. But it the first WinMo phone I had that had a ROM upgrade come out for it...:)

...and so on and so on. After that I took the usual path...you can see it in my sig.

my first love was a "MING" or A1200 what we call in the states. I went on a business trip to Singapore back in 04 and i wound up picking one up for about $300 or $350 USD
..prior to that ive had all types of phones but nothing was like the MING.

from that one going foward ive had: Tilt>Fuze on At&t>Touch Pro on VZW and now the Touch Pro 2 on VZW

Re: What phone started your love afair with PPCs?

For me it wasn't a phone at all. It was my first PDA running PPC 2002. Together with a Stowaway keyboard (like the one used in Alias) and a network card in the card slot, it was practically a netbook, in addition to being the best mp3 player at the time. When Verizon came out with the XV6600 champagne, I was on it like a duck on a junebug.

And, as Paul Harvey would say, "now you know...the REST of the story. Goooooood day!"
